Former Biden and Obama officials back Trump strike
After seeing Democrats in Congress meltdown over Trump’s strike against Iran, I have to admit, I am a little giddy over the number of Dems who have come out to support the strike.
A host of former Biden and Obama officials are backing the strike, making the current class of Democrats look like a bunch of petulant children.
Sanders meltdown
By now, I am sure you have read the reactions of Reps. AOC (D-NY) and Green (D-TX), and the others.
I wanted to take a look at a different reaction before we get into Trump’s support, however, noting that Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) placed an op-ed on Fox News saying that “American must not to go to war with Iran.”
To be clear, Trump was never going to war with Iran. This was a strategic strike to take out their nuclear capabilities and nothing more.
The article, which you can read in full by clicking on that link title, does make some good points about previous wars, but this was never intended to start a war, and even Iran knew that. This was, yet again, a claim that was filled with falsehoods to create a negative narrative about the bad orange man by someone who was made delusional by TDS.
Obama’s Secretary of Defense
The people now coming out to support Trump are the heavyweights of the Biden and Obama administrations, and that is not good for people like Sanders.
Leon Panetta, who served as Obama’s Defense Secretary, stated that Trump “didn’t have any alternative” but to strike Iran.
And he is right. As Panetta knows, the United States is the only country with the payload and the planes capable of taking out an underground facility such as this.
If we did not do it, it was not going to get done, and once the go-ahead was given, it was reported that Iran could have had a nuclear weapon in as little as a few weeks, but no more than a few months.
Biden’s National Security Council Coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa
Brett McGurk also came forward to give Trump a slap on the back, having served in the Biden administration on his National Security Council.
He stated, "Bottom line, this is about the best place we can be. I give extremely high marks to this national security team and President Trump for managing this crisis and getting where we are."
Most Dems want us to believe that Trump was trying to start a war, but you have to look at the statements made before and after the strike, as well as the precision of the strike, and you can see that it was far from the case.
McGurk is right in that we are in a good place right now. The conflict between Israel and Iran appears to be over, Iran got its revenge out of its system with no harm coming to our troops, and they appear ready to negotiate a deal. There literally could not have been a better outcome for Trump.
