Gabbard strips security clearance from Hunter Biden letter officials

If you recall, during the 2020 election, there were 51 former intelligence officials that signed a letter stating that the Hunter Biden laptop was likely a Russian disinformation campaign.

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has finally held them accountable.

The Letter

The Hunter Biden laptop should have taken Joe Biden down in the 2020 election, but the media and Democrats managed to shut down the story. The New York Post broke the story and verified the laptop, but Democrats and the rest of the mainstream media, save Fox News, treated the story as though it was fake news.

Then came the letter signed by 51 former intelligence officials, claiming the laptop was likely a plan (mind you, not one of them had actually inspected the laptop).

Their letter expressed doubt, and it was clear the letter was only to give Biden ammunition to use against Trump when he attacked Biden on the information contained in the laptop.

The letter concluded, “If we are right, this is Russia trying to influence how Americans vote in this election, and we believe strongly that Americans need to be aware of this.” As we now know, they were not right, not even in the ballpark, and they likely all knew this when they signed their names to that letter.

Proving Wrong

It was later revealed that Biden insiders likely initiated the letter, which was brought up during a House Intelligence Committee report after the GOP took back control of the House in 2022.

Chairman Mike Turner (R-OH) stated, “The House Intelligence Committee’s work provided us with solid direct evidence that in the final weeks before the 2020 presidential election, 51 former intelligence officials coordinated with the Biden campaign to falsely cast doubt on an explosive New York Post story and label Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop as ‘Russian disinformation.’ The Committee worked to obtain classified documents from the CIA, including emails, and fought to include evidence of these materials in our report.”

House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) added, “We knew that the rushed statement from the 51 former intelligence officials was a political maneuver between the Biden campaign and the intelligence community. Now with this interim report, we reveal how officials at the highest levels of the CIA were aware of the statement and CIA employees knew that several of the so-called former officials were on active contract with the CIA. The report underscores the risks posed by a weaponized federal government.”

I have always thought those individuals should have been charged with election interference, but, at the very least, they needed to lose their security clearances to hold them accountable, which is what just happened.

Revoking Their Clearances

My regular readers know I had some reservations about Tulsi Gabbard as the DNI, as I had her pegged to run the VA, but she continues to win me over every day, and that goes for her latest move, which was revoking the security clearances of these individuals.

Gabbard announced, “Per President Trump’s directive, I have revoked security clearances and barred access to classified information for Antony Blinken, Jake Sullivan, Lisa Monaco, Mark Zaid, Norman Eisen, Letitia James, Alvin Bragg, and Andrew Weissman, along with the 51 signers of the Hunter Biden ‘disinformation’ letter. The President’s Daily Brief is no longer being provided to former President Biden.”

While none of these officials expressed remorse for deliberately lying to the American people, they are all now claiming this move by Gabbard hurts national security because current intelligence officials will not be able to lean on them for advice.

In reality, they are only upset because many of them are using their clearances to land jobs in the private sector. But let me ask you this... do we really want dozens of officials who knowingly lied to be advising anyone on national security measures? The answer seems relatively clear and definitive to me.
