Gavin Newsom just did it again...

During COVID, Governor Gavin Newsom got caught doing exactly what he was telling voters not to do, and after apologizing, you would think maybe an ounce of common sense would have soaked into his brain.  

Now, Newsom has been caught living the high life while his city streets are literally on fire.  

Let’s Have Dinner 

During COVID, California had some of the strictest laws in place regarding dining out.  

Yet, in the midst of it all, there was Newsom and a pack of his elite friends at The French Laundry to celebrate the birthday of one of his lobbyist buddies, Jason Kinney.  

The situation was only made worse by the exclusivity of the restaurant, which is about as easy to get a reservation at as it is to make a trip to the moon. 

And the prices, well, there is a reason they are not posted on the menu. If you have to ask, you cannot afford it.  

The Mandatory Apology 

After Newsom wiped his lips from his tasty meal and realized the entire state was livid that he was doing exactly what he was telling everyone they could not do, he offered up the usual mandatory apology.  

He stated, “I want to apologize to you because I need to preach and practice, not just preach and not practice, and I’ve done my best to do that. We're all human. We all fall short sometimes.” 

San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer ripped him, stating, “His kids can learn in person. But yours can’t. He can celebrate birthday parties. But you can’t. He can dine on a $350 meal at one of California’s fanciest restaurants during the worst recession in generations. But you definitely can’t. Can you believe this? I can’t.” 

The optics on this were horrible, and it spurred another round of trying to have him removed from office, but the liberal horde loves him, helping him fend off a recall effort.  

Fool Me Twice 

When you are a public official like this, if your people are suffering, you better be suffering too. Remember all the flak Trump took after implementing his sanctions for playing golf? 

Well, guess what Gavin Newsom was doing while the streets of Los Angeles were literally being set on fire? Sipping wine at a Napa festival.  

A report broke this week that Newsom was attending “Vineyard Vibes” at the Odette Estate Winery in Napa Valley during a fundraising event for an organization his sister founded. This was on June 7, while rioters were tossing bricks at cop cars and lighting them on fire.  

The worst part of this is that Newsom, right now, has to be considered the favorite to get the nod in the Democrat primary race for 2028.
