George Clooney stunning Donald Trump admission
During the 2024 election cycle, actor George Clooney became a major player.
Now, he is trying to set the stage for the 2028 presidential election, but he just dropped a bit of a truth bomb on the Democratic Party.
Should Have Been a Primary
As an actor, I have always liked Clooney. As a voice for Democrats, he seems to be fairly reasonable, and he is not a doom-and-gloom guy like most celebrities. He also does not buy into the rigged system that handed the nomination to Kamala Harris.
To that point, Clooney was recently asked about Harris getting the nod with no primary after Biden dropped out, which Clooney had called for.
Clooney stated, “How they were running was that it was a failed administration.
“You can’t run against yourself, right? And that’s why that was a difficult campaign. It’s hard to run against yourself and say, ‘Well, I disagree with all this.’”
Backing Moore
Clooney was also asked about who he would like to see get the nod in 2028, and it was not any of the current favorites.
Clooney responded, “I think we have some really good governors. But who I think is … levitating above that is Wes Moore.
“He’s a proper leader. … I like him a lot. I think he could be someone we could all join in behind.”
I think that is one of the biggest differences between conservatives and liberals. They look for leaders, while we look for representation. I don’t need to be led to anything. When I vote for someone, including the president, I want my issues represented, not led down the path they want to go down.
Don’t Have One
To my point about Clooney not being doom and gloom, on Trump winning, he stated, “We’ve been in much worse places. The only thing that’s different is the source of information and how much and how many different sources.”
Then he said something I never thought I would hear him say, stating, “They don’t have anybody that’s as charismatic as [Trump]. He’s charismatic. There’s no taking that away from him. He’s a television star.
“If you’re a Democrat, we have to find some people to represent us better, who have a sense of humor and who have a sense of purpose.”
You guys have heard me say more than once how politics is now theater, and nothing more, so I have to agree with Clooney. Charisma has always been the key to winning the White House, as it seems to be more of a beauty pageant than a quest to find someone that can do the job. And right now, the most charismatic person in the Democrat Party is Gavin Newsom, and by all accounts, the party is out to kill his career, so who do they go to in 202 to counter a Trump-backed candidate?
