Hamas releases hostages earlier than expected
When Donald Trump announced the peace deal between Hamas and Israel, liberals and Democrats were beside themselves.
They have been calling for a cease-fire since Israel counterattacked the terrorist organization.
Now, most of them have nothing to say, and it just got worse for them, but much better for Trump.
Let them go
When the deal was announced, the agreement was that Hamas would have a 24-hour countdown after the agreement, then have a 72-hour window to release the hostages.
That would have had them coming home on Tuesday or Wednesday, but Hamas decided to show a sign of good faith in the deal and announced it would be releasing the hostages early.
Trump announced that Hamas still had 20 live hostages, and they were all going to be coming home.
He stated, "So, they have the hostages -- I understand all 20 -- and we may get them out a little bit early. Getting them was amazing, actually, because we were involved, and they were in places you don’t want to know about."
A personal touch
Donald Trump decided to add a personal note for the hostages being released. The president wrote, "This is my great honor -- a great and beautiful day. A new beginning.”
Hamas also released four of the dead bodies, but there were supposed to be about two dozen bodies being returned, and Israel is already frothing at the mouth to hold Hamas accountable.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz was fuming, stating, “The urgent mission we are all committed to now is to ensure the return of all the fallen hostages home. Hamas’s announcement of the expected return of four bodies today constitutes a failure to meet its commitments.”
He then added that “any delay or deliberate avoidance will be considered a blatant violation of the agreement and will be met accordingly.”
A true friendship
Very few people in politics are actually friends, but I honestly believe that to be the case between Donald Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
You could hear it in his tone that Netanyahu has a deep respect for Trump, stating, "No American president has ever done more for Israel. It ain’t even close."
He then added, "Thank you for supporting Operation Rising Lion and for your bold decision to launch Operation Midnight Hammer. Boy, you got to hear this -- this is the most fitting name ever given to a military operation, because a little after midnight, you really hammered them."
Both of these men have given each other a lot of leeway at times, and only a real friendship can survive that. Both countries are lucky this friendship developed because I can say without a doubt, if Harris were president, there is no way this deal would have been made.
