Harvard revokes professor's tenure amid fight with Trump administration

Donald Trump has been at war with Harvard University, revoking contracts and aid, or at least he is trying to.

In a shocking move amid this war, the university just fired a tenured professor for what appears to be fraud of some sort.

The $2.2 Billion Freeze

As the first shot against Harvard, Trump froze $2.2 billion in grants and $60 million in government contracts.

As I have stated before, I would love to hear the justification from members of Congress for allocating billions to a school that has an endowment exceeding $50 billion.

That aside, the school responded to the freeze, stating, “The University will not surrender its independence or relinquish its constitutional rights.

“No government — regardless of which party is in power — should dictate what private universities can teach, whom they can admit and hire, and which areas of study and inquiry they can pursue.”

Another $100 Million

Since Harvard has not caved to Trump’s demands, he is turning up the heat, threatening to end another $100 million in contracts.

According to the letter sent to Harvard, the government is now looking to sever all ties with Harvard.

This started rumors that Trump had an ax to grind with the school, possibly due to Barron Trump having his application denied, but Barron never applied to Harvard, and it would make no sense for him to go there since he would have been a legacy at Penn.

Again, the school stated that it will fight the freeze, as it did when its grants were frozen.

Tenure Revoked

Harvard cannot afford any negative headlines right now, but it just created one of its own after it revoked the tenure of Francesca Gino, a professor of business administration. Gino has been accused of data fraud for having allegedly manipulated observations to support her hypotheses in a private study.

She was being paid a whopping $1 million salary by the school, reportedly the fifth-highest paid employee at the school. She has reportedly been under investigation for years over this manipulation, maintaining her innocence throughout the investigation.

The discrepancies were first reported by Data Colado, which stated, "In 2021, we and a team of anonymous researchers examined a number of studies co-authored by Gino, because we had concerns that they contained fraudulent data. We discovered evidence of fraud in papers spanning over a decade, including papers published quite recently (in 2020)."

Gino responded to the allegations, "I did not commit academic fraud. I did not manipulate data to produce a particular result. I did not falsify data to bolster any result. I did not commit the offense I am accused of. Period.”
