Head of New York FBI office says he was forced to resign

One of Attorney General Pam Bondi’s splash items was supposed to be the release of the Epstein files. However, it backfired on her, as she recently found out the New York office retained some files.

This week, people were shocked when the head of the FBI office announced his “forced” resignation, but I think it had something to do with Bondi.

I was misled

When Bondi asked for the files, she stated that she was assured that she had them all, explaining, “I kept saying, there has to be more. There has to be more. I was assured that’s it.”

Bondi then stated that a whistleblower told her that there was more, saying there were thousands of pages of documentation she still did not have.

Bondi explained, “We will get everything. We will have it in our possession. We will redact it, of course, to protect grand jury information and confidential witnesses, but American people have a right to know.”

Republicans have pushed back on the failure of Bondi to release all the documents, and Rep. Luna (R-FL) went off after Bondi gave influencers Phase 1 Epstein binders, stating, “THIS IS NOT WHAT WE OR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ASKED FOR and a complete disappointment. GET US THE INFORMATION WE ASKED FOR!”

I want those files

Bondi, in a blatant show of aggression, posted a public letter to FBI Director Kash Patel demanding that the New York FBI office turn over the remaining documentation.

To Patel’s credit, he did not get involved in a public feud with Bondi, announcing that he would get to the bottom of it and make sure she had all the documentation she had requested.

Bondi now claims she has received the files, but they have to review them before they can be released to ensure no information is leaked, especially regarding issues of national security and to protect the victims.

Again, I believe most of the damaging information has probably already been removed, so I am not expecting any major bombshell to come from this. I just don’t want people thinking the lid will get blown off DC when that is unlikely to happen.

Time to go

The one interesting development in all of this was the removal of the New York FBI’s field office boss, James Dennehy, who alleged that he was forced to resign this week.

Dennehy stated, “Late Friday, I was informed that I needed to put my retirement papers in today, which I just did. I was not given a reason for this decision.”

I am speculating here, but I believe this firing was dual-inspired. If you recall, Dennehy pushed back against acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove regarding the investigation of agents who worked on the January 6 cases. Now Bondi has an issue with files, and suddenly Dennehy is shown the door.

As I have stated before, be it for better or worse, Trump is not playing any games this time around. If you are working in this government, you are going to show loyalty to him and his agenda or you will not have a job. The jury is out on how this will work out for him in terms of the American voter, but Trump has clearly pushed all his chips into the middle of the table.
