Homan pushes back on characterization of ICE raids during CNN interview

As we all know, the new dividing line in this country is over ICE raids. Several times now, Tom Homan, Trump’s border czar, has been taken out of context to push a narrative.

Now, however, a judge has ordered ICE to stand down, and Homan is furious.

Not stopping

After the rioting and public pushback by Democrats over the ICE raids, Democrats tried to give the Trump administration an ultimatum.

Homan refused to budge to the threats, vowing to keep workplace raids in effect in California.

He stated, “The message is clear now that we’re going to continue doing worksite enforcement operations, even on farms and hotels, but based on a prioritized basis. Criminals come first.”

ICE had continued to crack down in California, but that just came to a screaming halt.

Judge gets in the way

Maame E. Frimpong of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, who was appointed by Joe Biden, is the latest judge to stand in Trump’s way.

I remember Frimpong’s confirmation hearings, and it did not go well. Like many others, she could not answer some basic questions given to her by the Senate Judiciary Committee, yet she was passed along like the rest of them.

Now she is barring the ICE raids due to the reported tactics of the agency, stating, “What the federal government would have this Court believe — in the face of a mountain of evidence presented in this case — is that none of this is actually happening.”

Mark Rosenbaum, a lawyer with Public Counsel, responded to the ruling, stating, “The order reflects there is something very wrong when the federal government goes to war against an American city and ignores the Constitution. Hopefully this ends the actions of the government rounding up carwash workers and other hardworking people like they were domestic terrorists.”

Tom Homan pushes back

CNN host Dana Bash went after Homan this weekend regarding Homan’s comments on conducting raids on “reasonable suspicion,” and Homan went nuclear. He stated, "I want to be clear about that again, because my words were taken out of context. Physical description cannot be the sole reason to detain and question somebody. That can‘t be the sole reason to raise reasonable suspicion. It‘s a myriad of factors, and I could sit here for the next half hour and give you all the factors.”

He later added, "I‘m not going to disagree with everything the judge has said because a location alone shouldn‘t have reasonable suspicion. It‘s a combination of articulable facts that an officer determines before he detains somebody for a short period of time and questions them.

“So again, every case is different. Different articulable facts for different people and different places. So, again, I look forward to litigation. I think we will win this on appeal.”

This narrative is only going to get worse, as Senator Padilla (D-CA) is also going after the profiling angle, so we can expect even more outrage, solely because the media, the courts, and Democrats are not telling the whole truth.
