Homan wants AOC webinar investigated for possible charges

Rep. Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has always seemed to have the interests of illegals over that of law-abiding American citizens.

To that point, she posted a webinar to help illegals avoid arrest by ICE, but it could be something that winds up landing her an indictment of her own.

Aiding and Abetting

In the United States, aiding and abetting is a felony crime.

The key elements of such a crime would constitute someone knowingly helping someone who intended to commit a crime, providing support or advice to the perpetrator, and/or the individual who knew the crime was being committed.

Examples of such an act would be providing information about the crime, helping the individual get away, financing the crime, or helping the perpetrator escape.

I think we can all agree a webinar to explain to illegals, who are criminals by definition for having entered the country illegally, how to avoid ICE, would meet the standard of this definition. We could also make the argument that giving this advice would also encourage more people to commit the crime.

The Webinar

AOC has since posted a "Know Your Rights" guide on social media. She did not participate in the webinar, but she did post it, which is what Homan is focusing on.

The webinar offers tips to illegals on how to avoid being apprehended by ICE officials.

She gives them tips such as not opening their door and demanding to see the warrant (and demanding they leave if they cannot produce the warrant).

Her webinar got the attention of Tom Homan, Trump’s border czar, who is now asking the Department of Justice to check out the webinar to see if she has broken any laws.

Homan Calls in the DOJ

Homan was on CNN this week, where he stated, “I’m suggesting that I would ask the Department of Justice, where’s that line on [law-enforcement] impediment, right?”

He later added, “You can call it ‘know your rights’ all you want. I think it’s more about how they evade law enforcement not to get arrested, even though there’s a federal warrant for your arrest, how they evade that, rather than ‘know your rights.’”

Homan believes she is impeding law enforcement, stating, “Is that impeding our law-enforcement efforts? If so, what are we going to do about it? Maybe AOC is going to be in trouble now. … Impediment is impediment, in my opinion.”

Impediment, aiding, and abetting... call it whatever you want, but I cannot believe a sitting member of Congress is openly helping people to avoid arrest who have broken the law. If I had my way, she would not only be investigated and indicted, but also kicked out of Congress, as her focus is clearly not on representing the law-abiding citizens of this country.
