House Dem chased down over Trump protests
Last week, Donald Trump gave an address to a joint session of Congress.
Dems protested in several different ways, including refusing to applaud a young cancer survivor, which resulted in a Democrat voter chasing down a congressman at the airport.
The Protests
There were rumors early in the week that Democrats were going to protest Trump’s speech, trying to disrupt him with noisemakers and several other props.
That got quickly derailed when Speaker Johnson (R-LA) had Rep. Green (D-TX) removed for screaming and refusing to sit down after several warnings.
After that, Dems used ridiculous paddle signs to protest Trump, but that also fell flat, with the liberal media even roasting Democrats over their lame efforts.
The worst of it all, however, was when Democrats refused to stand and applaud a young cancer survivor who had been made an honorary member of the Secret Service.
Embarrassment
Dems refusing to stand and applaud 13-year-old DJ Daniel had Republicans outraged, as they should have been able to put their differences with Trump aside for this young man, but Republicans were not alone in being upset about this.
Most Democrats remained seated, silently, while some mainstream media pundits accused Trump of using the young boy as a prop, most notably MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, who feigned disgust over what happened.
For instance, Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO) stated, "I think the Democrats really embarrassed themselves. I mean, they wouldn't even stand up for DJ, who survived cancer. I mean, it's childish.”
One Democrat who did applaud was Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI), who stated, "After the Secret Service gave him his [badge] and he sat back down, but then he reached back up and hugged the Secret Service chief, it made me cry. I had tears. I was wiping a freaking tear. I clapped and was touched – not rolling my eyes.”
House Democrat Chased Down at Airport
Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) is clearly a progressive Democrat, but he is also often a voice of reason in the Democrat caucus. He was again on this issue.
Khanna stated that he had been chased down at the airport by a flight attendant who complained to him that his fellow Democrats were “heartless” for the way they acted with that young boy.
Khanna explained the man told him, “’Sir, I am a Democrat but the way the party behaved was embarrassing. Made us look heartless. I don't care who is up there, you stand for the boy with cancer. Be more rational and get your act together.’
"I replied that a few of us did stand and clap and we must be the party that still believes in kindness, decency, and trying to bring people together.”
Dems always talk about wanting unity in this country, but that is a flat out lie. When you cannot get beyond your hatred of the bad orange man to root for a child who has been operated on more times in his 13 years than most people will see in an entire lifetime, you are the lowest form of scum. There is simply no excuse that can be given to justify what Democrats did last Tuesday night.
