Incoming Trump Press Secretary Youngest to Ever Serve in Position
Donald Trump has named Karoline Leavitt as his press secretary.
This has not gotten much ink, but Leavitt will be the youngest person, male or female, to have ever been given this post.
Making History
Trump’s first administration was very female-friendly, but it did not get much press because it was Donald Trump.
The second administration will also have some firsts, starting with Karoline Leavitt, who, once she takes her position, will be the youngest White House Press Secretary to have ever served.
Leavitt, 27, will take the honor from Ron Ziegler, who was 29 when he served in this position during the Nixon administration.
And make no mistake about it, she has some rather large shoes to fill after the amazing job that was done by Kayleigh McEnany during Trump’s first term.
Who Is Karoline Leavitt?
Leavitt has been in Trump’s inner circle for some time and had even made a run for Congress during the last mid-term elections in New Hampshire.
She served as the assistant press secretary during Trump’s first term, then moved over to help Rep. Stefanik (R-N.Y.) during her 2020 election bid.
Leavitt really made her mark during Trump’s 2024 campaign, refusing to back down against the attacks of the liberal media, clearly having taken a page from McEnany’s playbook on how to deal with a confrontational press.
Leavitt got attention on a national level when she did a pre-emptive strike against Dana Bash and Jake Tapper before the first presidential debate, stating, "That’s why President Trump is knowingly going into a hostile environment on this very network, on CNN, with debate moderators who have made their opinions about him very well-known over the past eight years. And their biased coverage of him.”
No Media Coverage
If this were a Democrat, the fact she is making history would be all over the media right now, which was proven by how the media gushed over the firsts that took place during the Biden administration.
For instance, when Biden had the first all-female communications team, the media went bonkers, while more or less ignoring the fact that the majority of team members when Trump was in office were all female.
The media also gushed over the appointments of Pete Buttigieg and Karine Jean-Pierre, the first gay cabinet member approved by the Senate, as well as the first openly gay press secretary. Mind you, the media obliterated Richard Grenell, who is gay, and served as Trump’s Acting Director of National Intelligence.
And I would be remiss if I did not mention how the media could not talk about Rachel Levine, a transgender woman, who, ironically, was named the Assistant Secretary of Health, becoming the first transgender official confirmed by the Senate.
