Janet Jackson Refuses to Walk Back Kamala Harris Comments

Janet Jackson stirred up a bit of a hornet’s nest.

Jackson had previously questioned that Kamala Harris was not black.

Now she is taking heat for a half-hearted apology.

During a recent interview in the Guardian, Jackson dared to question Harris being black, and it brought hell down on her.

Jackson told the outlet, “Well, you know what they supposedly said? She’s not Black.

“That’s what I heard. That she’s Indian.

“Her father’s White. That’s what I was told. I mean, I haven’t watched the news in a few days. I was told they discovered her father was White.”

After the interview was published, Jackson became a popular target in the media.

That resulted in an “apology” being offered up by someone named Mo Elmasri, who claimed to be her manager.

His apology stated, “Janet Jackson would like to clarify her recent comments. She recognizes that her statements regarding Vice President Kamala Harris’ racial identity were based on misinformation.

“Janet respects Harris’ dual heritage as both Black and Indian and apologizes for any confusion caused.

“She values the diversity Harris represents and understands the importance of celebrating that in today’s society. Janet remains committed to promoting unity and understanding.”

Jackson’s office, however, responded that her manager is her brother, Randy Jackson, and Elmasri does not speak for her and has no connection to her at all.

Outlets have reached out to Jackson for more clarification, but nothing has been returned as of this writing.

This, of course, all stems from Trump calling out Harris for using whatever part of her ethnic background worked for her at the time.

When Trump made his comments at the debate, you could almost hear the media gasp around the country, waiting for the attack.

Other Trump surrogates have also attacked Harris on this line as well, so we can probably expect a statement from the Harris camp or Democrats talking about how serious misinformation coming from Trump’s camp continues to be, and that he must be stopped to prevent this from ever happening again.

Of course, such a statement will not be viewed as violent rhetoric because it is being made by Democrats.
