JD Vance's top political advisors to steer Ramaswamy run for Ohio governor
If JD Vance hated the idea of his political team working for other people, he's going to be STUNNED about this latest development.
According to Fox News, "Vice President JD Vance's political team, including two top advisors, is joining Vivek Ramaswamy's soon-to-be-announced 2026 Ohio gubernatorial run, a source with knowledge confirmed."
Ramaswamy isn't going to let his loss in the 2024 Republican primaries dissuade him from seeking office.
Governor of Ohio?
Ramaswamy, a multimillionaire biotech entrepreneur, has been spending the last few weeks putting together a plan to run for Governor of Ohio. GOP Governor Mike DeWine is term-limited and cannot seek re-election.
"Expect Vivek to announce his candidacy in mid-February," a source told Fox News.
Vivek launched his own relatively successful candidacy for president of the United States before dropping out and becoming one of the top Trump allies and surrogates. Although Vivek was not able to capture the Republican nomination, he definitely succeeded in raising his name recognition.
JD Vance certainly knows how to run a campaign in Ohio, that's how he was elected Senator there. In what's sure to be a huge boost to Ramaswamy's campaign, two Vance advisors, Andy Surabian and Jai Chabria, are set to join Vivek Ramaswamy's gubernatorial campaign.
Chabria, a veteran of Ohio politics, is expected to serve as the Ramaswamy campaign's general consultant.
Surabian, who is also a top advisor of Donald Trump's eldest son, will steer an outside political group affiliated with the Ramaswamy campaign.
Tony Fabrizio, a veteran Republican pollster who worked on Trump's 2016 and 2024 campaigns, as well as Vance's 2022 Senate campaign, is also preparing to join Ramaswamy's team.
Vance still a power player in Ohio.
Ohio used to be a battleground state, but JD Vance is one of the reasons that the state has shifted to the right over the past decade. Since winning his 2022 Senate election, Vance has put his prints all over the Buckeye State.
If Vance is willing to help out Ramaswamy, it won't be the first time he's thrown around his political weight in Ohio.
Vance endorsed now-Senator Bernie Moreno ahead of his 2024 GOP Senate primary victory, allowing key members of his political team to steer Moreno's campaign.
"It should not come as a surprise that JD's top operatives are working with Vivek, given that JD and Vivek have had a longtime friendship," a source tells Fox News. Vance and Ramaswamy have apparently known each other since they both studied at Yale Law School.
Do you think that Vance's help could propel Ramaswamy to be Ohio's next governor? Many members of the GOP certainly hope so.
