Lemon Doubles Down on Comments Against Trump Supporters

Earlier this week, Don Lemon went off on Trump supporters over the infighting over the H-1B visa program.

Now, he is doubling down after being called out over his unhinged rant.

The Visa Debate

This all got started when Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy posted their support for the H-1B visa program.

As I stated when I initially reported on this, sometimes it is not what you say, but how you say it, and the way that Musk and Ramaswamy framed their opinions did not sit well with anyone.

Then Donald Trump came out in support, something he has pushed back against in the past (even though he denies that is the case).

This sent MAGA into an uproar, openly fighting among themselves on social media, with MAGA being on both sides of this argument.

Lemon Goes Off

Lemon was watching all this play out and decided to pour some gasoline on the fire.

During his show, he stated, “Oh my gosh, I love this. Now you’re finding out, you dumb f‑‑‑ing idiots. Now you’re just figuring this s‑‑‑ out. You’re so f‑‑‑ing stupid, and you deserve it.”

He later added, “Yes. I am gloating over your stupidity and how you were taken. I’m cracking. I’m cackling — I am. You have been co-opted, because you’re in a f‑‑‑ing cult and you don’t even realize it, because you have stupid MAGA brain and you don’t get it. How stupid and dumb are you?”

To his point, Trump, while railing against the program as president, even introducing sweeping changes to the program (which never went into effect because the plan carried over into the Biden administration), had used the program extensively at his own businesses (Trump has significant hires using both the H-1B program and the H-2B program).

Doubling Down

Lemon was highly criticized not for his rant but for the language and insulting nature of the rant. Lemon, however, did not back down after being called out.

After people pushed back, Lemon fired back, "So, as always, everybody gets all butthurt! I’m not referring to all Trump supporters. I’m talking to the MAGA-brained people who will say and do anything to make excuses for any behavior that Donald Trump does, any bad behavior that the MAGA movement does. So yes, I stand by my words! And if you don’t like what I said, then too f-ing bad, I don’t care!"

He later added, "This is how messed up you are. You have a higher expectation of me, an independent journalist, a former cable news host, than you do for the person who sits in the Oval Office. Because his mouth is worse than mine.”

Lemon clearly did not get the memo regarding the 2024 election and how insulting half the country failed by Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election. His comments about Trump’s language are not wrong, but somehow, Trump is the only one who seems to be able to get away with it.
