Maine in violation of Title IX after Trump order

Republicans have been fighting to preserve the integrity and safety of women’s sports.

Dems are on the other side of this fight, and now it is costing them significantly.

Trump’s Order

When Trump signed his order, he was surrounded by women and children athletes who were ecstatic that he was banning transgenders from women’s sports.

While introducing the order, Trump stated, “The radical left has waged an all-out campaign to erase the very concept of biological sex and replace it with a militant transgender ideology. With this executive order, the war on women’s sports is over.”

A Trump official also noted that this would pertain to Olympic events held in this country, stating, "If you are coming into the country and you are claiming that you are a woman but you are a male here to compete against women, we’re going to be reviewing that for fraud.”

For international events, the expectation is that a transgender with a passport claiming to be anything other than their biological sex will be denied entry.

Maine in Violation

Maine’s governor made it quite clear that Trump’s order would not be followed, and now the state has been found in violation of Title IX.

On Monday, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office for Civil Rights (OCR) announced that Maine’s DoE, its Principals’ Association, and a local high school were all in violation.

Anthony Archeval, Acting Director of the OCR at HHS, stated, "The Maine Department of Education may not shirk its obligations under Federal law by ceding control of its extracurricular activities, programs, and services to the Maine Principals’ Association.

"We hope the Maine Department of Education, the Maine Principals’ Association, and Greely High School will work with us to come to an agreement that restores fairness in women’s sports."

Holding Back Funding

When this transgender controversy got started, a Penn swimmer is really what added fuel to a slowly burning fire. Penn has not backed down, and now the school is losing out on $175 million in funding from the federal government, with Trump announcing that the funding had been halted over a transgenders competing in women’s sports.

After the announcement was made, a Penn spokesperson stated, “It is important to note, however, that Penn has always followed NCAA and Ivy League policies regarding student participation on athletic teams,.

“We have been in the past, and remain today, in full compliance with the regulations that apply to not only Penn, but all of our NCAA and Ivy League peer institutions.”

Forget the transgender issue in this report because I want to know why a school like Penn, with a $22.3 billion endowment, needs our taxpayer money. How about DOGE starts looking at all the money these universities are getting and we cut those strings before anything else.
