Mamdani changes stance on defunding the police

NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani has a long and documented history of attacking the police.

Now that he is the favorite to become the mayor, he is trying to back off his stance.

Mandani is pulling off all kinds of stunts to try to get people to believe him, including visiting with the family of the NYPD officer who was killed in the recent attack in New York.

Laundering

Mamdani is now claiming that he may keep the current police chief in place if he is elected, even though Mamdani is not on the same page with the chief.

On keeping the current chief, Mamdani had stated, “I believe that it’s premature to make any personnel commitments at this time, but it’s a consideration that is real — and it’s in keeping with the city that we’re fighting for.”

This from the man who once wrote, “There is no negotiating with an institution this wicked & corrupt. Defund it. Dismantle it. End the cycle of violence.”

Political operative Ken Frydman observed, “He’s laundering his radical stances, that’s what he’s doing. But he needs his defund-the-police voters to turn out again and cop-hating Tiffany Cabán is lurking.”

That’s Funny

There is so much I am finding out about this man; it is horrifying to think he could be running a major US city.

For instance, in November 2020, someone had posted to X, “I just saw a cop crying in his car LMAOOOO.”

Mamdani reposted and added, “Nature is healing.”

The man hates the police. He has made it quite clear that he wants to defund the police. Yet, now voters and the media are buying the idea that he has somehow transformed his beliefs overnight.

Not My Position

Obviously, his past comments are coming to light, and when he was asked about them, Mamdani responded, “I am not running to defund the police.”

When Mamdani returned from Uganda for his wedding celebration, he went from the airport to the slain officer's home to mourn with the family in what was a clear publicity stunt. If he were not running for mayor, there is no way he would have been there.

One police source stated, “People are fools to believe he will help the city. A wolf in sheep’s clothing.”

Let me put it this way. Mamdani has been a councilman since 2021. From January 2021 to July 2024, there were 17 officers killed in the line of duty, and as far as I know, Mamdani has not once visited their homes or attended their services. So why now? I think we all know that answer.
