Media finally admits Trump got it right in Colorado

Last year, one of the big stories in the cycle was regarding violent gangs taking over apartment complexes in Colorado.

When Trump brought up the report, the media and Democrats showed up in force to say it was all a conspiracy theory.

The New York Times, however, just published a report admitting that Trump had it right.

False and Exaggerated Claims

I am now looking at a report from that news cycle that was published by Colorado Newsline.

After Trump planned a rally in Colorado toward the end of the election cycle, the outlet reported, “Former President Donald Trump will hold a rally at a luxury resort in Aurora on Friday, a little over two months after local right-wing political figures began to spread the false and exaggerated claims about a gang ‘takeover’ that have thrust the city into the spotlight of the 2024 presidential campaign.”

Even though the video had shown what was really going on, local Democrats and the media continued to call this a conspiracy theory.

The entire thing was brushed under the rug, all dismissed as another bogus rumor that Trump had bought into.

The Edge at Lowry Apartments in Aurora, CO, was reportedly closing just months after that initial report of gang violence.

In January 2025, Aurora Police Chief Todd Chamberlain stated, “The Edge of Lowry Apartments is an epicenter for unmitigated violent crimes and property crimes perpetuated by a criminal element that has exerted control and fear over others residing at this apartment complex.”

This is the same complex that right-wing publications were reporting on, and the same complex that everyone said we were all lying about.

We found out in that same report that when the reports were being called conspiracy theories, nearly a dozen arrests had already been made of TdA gang members. They all knew about it, they just denied it because the bad orange man was talking about it.

Trump Was Right

The New York Times just published a report, but even the report was still a bit twisted, with a headline, “Democrats Denied This City Had a Gang Problem. The Truth Is Complicated.”

The truth is not complicated at all. The city and complex had a massive gang problem. The gang took over the complex and was shaking down residents. That is what was claimed, and that is precisely what happened, and what led to the shutdown of the complex.

It turns out, there is another apartment complex, Innovation at Fitz Apartments, suffering the same type of violence at the hands of gang members, so this was not just an isolated incident.

This is why people in this country do not trust the mainstream media. It is literally lying and pushing Democrat talking points because of the hatred against Trump. Sadly, the apologies and truth hardly get the same coverage as the initial lies. So while this is a step forward, it is also far too late.
