Media has to admit Trump is getting it done

The media railed against Trump when he was in office during his first term.

They went after him for four years before he ran for office, and they went after him again after he took office.

Now, one journalist who has been after him for years had to admit that Trump is actually delivering.

Low Immigration

I think most of us would agree that immigration was top of mind for voters when they headed to the polls in 2024. This was a bipartisan issue for everyone other than Democrats who were elected to office, and polling throughout the election cycle and after proved it.

There is no way to deny Trump’s success on this front, as the president has more or less eliminated illegal immigration.

We went from months where there were hundreds of thousands of people crossing to less than 10% of those numbers.

Not only that, but the administration was not releasing illegals into the country, which never happened under the Biden administration.

Tariffs Are Working

Trump has always loved to use tariffs to apply pressure, and if he had his way about it, taxes would be gone and tariffs would be higher.

In July, the United States collected about $28 billion in tariffs, bringing the total up to more than $150 billion collected.

At the same time, we have not really seen any increase in pricing, as vendors are choosing to eat the tariffs rather than pass them on and suffer lower sales.

Not only that, but Trump got great news about the economy, as inflation continues to remain low while the economy continues to improve.

Media Gives In

New York Times columnist Bret Stephens has been critical of Trump for years, and even he had to eat his previous words.

He posted, "Egads! After a disastrous first 100 days, Donald Trump is starting to have a much more successful presidency. This is not what we, his foam-at-the-mouth critics, had planned or perhaps secretly hoped for.”

That statement says it all in terms of what is wrong with the media in this country. While I am hard on every president, I never root for them to fail because if a president is successful, that means the country is successful.

Sadly, just as Stephens stated, many people are hoping Trump fails solely so Democrats can get back into power. If Trump keeps this rolling, Democrats may not see the White House for another decade.
