Media Meltdown After Trump Meeting with ‘Morning Joe’ Revealed
After Trump won the election, "Morning Joe" co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski reached out to have a meeting with Donald Trump to create a reasonable path forward.
Well, the mainstream media had an absolute meltdown.
The Meeting
I give Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski credit for actually being reasonable and looking for a path forward to honestly report on this administration.
They had to know this meeting would create outrage on the left, but they did it anyway.
After the meeting was announced, Scarborough defended the meeting, stating, "We're not here to defend or normalize Donald Trump. We're here to report on him and to hopefully provide you insights that are going to better equip all of us in understanding these deeply unsettling times."
The fact he even had to say that shows you how ridiculously extreme people are reacting to a second Donald Trump term.
The Meltdown
The meltdown over the meeting was immediate, with staffers at MSNBC reportedly livid that they dared to sit down with the bad orange man.
The ladies on “The View” went nuts, accusing “Morning Joe” of being “opportunistic” and possibly “changing their stripes” over the meeting.
Jon Stewart also went off, saying that the couple had accused Trump of being “Hitler,” yet here they are sitting down with him.
Stewart also blasted the Democrat Party, stating, "The Republicans are playing chess and the Democrats are in the nurse's office because they glued their balls to their thigh. That is what is happening!"
Trump Tries to Make Peace
With all the outrage over the meeting, Trump offered a sort of olive branch to the media.
Trump stated, "In order to Make America Great Again, it is very important, if not vital, to have a free, fair and open media or press.” Then Trump added that he has an obligation to be available to the press, but that came with a caveat. Trump added, "If not treated fairly, however, that will end. The media is very important to the long-term success of the United States of America."
Trump further stated, "And while many others are calling for meetings, I am not looking for retribution, grandstanding or to destroy people who treated me very unfairly, or even badly beyond comprehension. I am always looking to give a second and even third chance, but never willing to give a fourth chance — that is where I hold the line."
All they have to do is be fair, stop calling the man Hitler, and stop playing Chicken Little every time he opens his mouth. The Democrats and the media have turned into drama queens, but now Trump is back in office, so they are going to have to deal with him for four more years whether they like it or not. So why not do your job and report honestly instead of creating narratives you want to take him down?
