More Information Comes to Light Regarding Las Vegas Cybertruck Bombing
I think all of us were stunned when we heard a decorated war veteran had blown up a cybertruck outside of the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas.
Over the last few days, more information has become available about the bomber, so I wanted to chime in to offer my opinion on what I think happened here.
The Bombing
The bombing took place on New Year’s Day.
The timing of the blast had many people thinking it was related to the New Orleans terror attack, as there were some odd links, but investigators later revealed that the two incidents did not appear to be related.
The odd thing about this attack was how the blast was carried out, especially when you consider the significant operator experience Matthew Livelsberger possessed. The explosion was directed upward instead of out.
Before people knew who Livelsberger was, it seemed like the bomber had screwed up, or the construction of the cybertruck prevented the blast from being directed outward, where it would have done more damage. I now believe something else completely.
Final Texts
After the incident took place, and the suspect was identified as Army special ops veteran Matthew Livelsberger, my antenna went straight up. I know plenty of veterans, and I know special operators, and I can tell you flat out if they wanted to destroy something, the cybertruck’s construction would not have prevented them from doing so, so what exactly was going on here?
Some insight was provided by Livelsberger’s ex-girlfriend, who shared some of his final texts before the fatal bombing. Alicia Arritt and Livelsberger dated for about three years after his divorce, ending their relationship in 2021. Arritt stated, "I just want everyone to know that Matt was the kindest man I ever knew. He got me through a difficult time."
Livelsberger had also sent her some texts earlier in the week before the attack, showing he was very clear-headed about this, telling her, "I rented a Tesla Cybertruck. It’s the s---.” He continued on that he felt “like Batman or Halo.”
She also noted that in 2019, he suffered a TBI, or traumatic brain injury, but in special forces, you don’t say anything or you lose your spot. So, he soldiered on, but she noticed a rather dramatic change in his personality after the TBI.
Cleansing
A cellphone was recovered in the bombing, which had a message on it from Livelsberger, who wrote, “This was not a terrorist attack, it was a wake up call. Americans only pay attention to spectacles and violence. What better way to get my point across than a stunt with fireworks and explosives.”
His message continued, "Why did I personally do it now? I needed to cleanse my mind of the brothers I’ve lost and relieve myself of the burden of the lives I took,” further stating, “We are being led by weak and feckless leadership who only serve to enrich themselves.”
I know some people believe something is hokey here, but I am not among them, and the blast has convinced me. If he truly wanted to hurt people, the front of that hotel would have been blown apart. I believe Livelsberger purposely constructed his bomb to force the blast upward instead of outward to protect people around the blast while at the same time creating a horrific show to draw attention to the plague that curses our service members.
Here is my message… if you have friends or family who have been deployed, you have no idea the horrors they have seen, and it is unlikely that they want to burden you with them. Just make it clear that you are there; you are a shoulder and an ear if they need it. Don’t force the issue, but let them know someone cares and is there for them. Our government has abandoned them, so now it is up to us to pick the pieces and help put these warriors back together again. We owe them that and quite a bit more.
