Most dems vote against DUI deportation bill
I do not understand the obsession with Democrats protecting criminal illegals in this country, but they are still holding that line.
Dating back to when Biden was in office, they killed legislation that would call for the automatic deportation of any illegal immigrant convicted of a DUI, and most Dems voted against a recent bill that will do just that.
Not on My Watch
I have outlined a rather extensive immigration reform package that I believe most of my readers would support if we could get it into play.
Part of that calls for the automatic deportation of illegals caught committing certain crimes.
DUI should clearly be considered for that, yet, in 2024, Jon Feere at the Center for Immigration Studies reported, “Under Biden, there’s a 71% decrease in ICE arrests of illegal aliens with DUI records.
“During Trump’s first three years there were 235,800 DUI records on the aliens ICE arrested; during Biden’s first three years, only 69,282 records.”
Send Them Home
Rep. Barry Moore (R-AL) has been on a quest to have DUI illegals deported for some time, but with Trump now in office, he knows his dream could become a reality.
Moore penned legislation to deport any illegal immigrant convicted of a DUI, and when he presented the legislation, I was all for it.
Moore explained, “And one case in Colorado on the fifth DUI, this illegal killed a mom and her 16-year-old son. And in Florida, we had a fellow on his third DUI, the Illegal killed a kindergartener.
“And so what happens is the immigration courts, or you know, or the courts, whoever will see these guys, and give them a slap on the wrist and put them back out in communities. And they’re repeat offenders. So if you’re here drinking and driving, you’re removable. And of course, that’s one of the things that I think will save countless lives in America.”
Only 37 Dems
This should be a no-brainer for anyone who wants to keep Americans safe. You simply cannot protect people who are in this country illegally and breaking our laws.
Moore’s legislation hit the House floor on Thursday, and it passed with bipartisan support, with 37 Democrats crossing the aisle, which is pathetic.
That means that 160 Democrats decided it is okay for someone here illegally to get drunk or high, get behind the wheel, and put other people’s lives at risk. I look at a DUI as attempted murder, whether they hit someone or not, because the moment someone gets behind that wheel drunk or high, that car is a potential murder weapon.
Now, that may be extreme, I acknowledge that, but I have lost friends to DUI drivers, and I believe we need to do more to get people to stop driving drunk and use a Lyft or Uber. In this day and age, there is simply no excuse for it, and if you are already an illegal and caught with a DUI, well, you don’t deserve to be here.
