Newsom dismisses LA riots as similar to Philadelphia Super Bowl celebration

Over the weekend, we all saw the images of the rioting in Compton and Los Angeles.  

While the Trump administration has announced the mobilization of the National Guard and possibly even active-duty Marines, Governor Newsom is comparing the riots to a Super Bowl celebration in Philadelphia.  

Mobilizing Marines 

Secretary Hegseht really had Dems up in arms for suggesting that he would be mobilizing active-duty Marines to California.  

When reports surfaced that there was Marine movement, everyone assumed they were headed to LA for the riots.  

Newsom tried to back that down a bit, stating, “From our understanding, this is moving Marines from one base to another base.” 

But he still took a shot at Trump, stating, “The level of escalation is completely unwarranted, uncalled for, and unprecedented — mobilizing the best in class branch of the U.S. military against its own citizens.” 

Dems outraged 

Trump made it quite clear if the mayor and governor could not handle this, he would take charge.  

Trump posted, “If Governor Gavin Newscum, of California, and Mayor Karen Bass, of Los Angeles, can’t do their jobs, which everyone knows they can’t, then the Federal Government will step in and solve the problem, RIOTS & LOOTERS, the way it should be solved!!!” 

Newsom then responded that Trump was “hoping for chaos so he can justify more crackdowns, more fear, more control.” 

Mayor Bass added, “My conversations with the administration today have been to assure them that if there are protests that break out and if there is violence associated with those protests, that the Los Angeles Police Department is well equipped to handle that. Two thousand officers, 2,000 in our city will not be a positive thing and will not be helpful.” 

No big deal  

In an effort to continue to downplay the rioting and paint Trump as overreacting, Newsom made an utterly ridiculous claim.  

His office stated, "LA riots? Have these geniuses ever seen what happens when the Eagles win a playoff game?"   

They were referring to the outbreak of violence after the Eagles won the Super Bowl last year, but it was not even close to what we are seeing in Los Angeles.  

As I have stated before, if the Dems want to handle this on their own, let them. Make it very public that you are offering help, but don’t step in until they ask for help since they are so adamant they can handle this. Let the American people realize what Dems are doing to our major cities rather than giving them something to attack the administration on. If they want their city to burn, let it burn, and make sure the American people know who is responsible.
