Noem apologizes to #Whipgate border agents for false allegations
During the Biden administration, a picture surfaced that made it appear as though some border agents were using their reins to hit migrants attempting to cross the border.
Biden excoriated the agents, but as it turns out, it was merely the angle of the photo, as the alleged whipping never took place, yet Biden never apologized, a wrong that was just corrected by Noem.
The initial report
The entire narrative started with a photo that was taken at an angle that appeared to show the agents whipping Haitian migrants crossing the border illegally; then footage came out showing the entire incident...
The White House criticized the use of horse reins to threaten Haitian migrants after images circulated of a U.S. border guard on horseback charging at migrants near a riverside camp in Texas https://t.co/pma6y9RJVq pic.twitter.com/xb4X9doX6f

Eventually, the still photo photographer came forward to say at no point did he ever see any whipping of migrants.
Secretary Mayorkas also initially defended the agents, but he attacked them after Biden made his statement that the agents would pay.
The agents were relegated to desk duty while the investigation took place, an investigation that Mayorkas promised would be days or weeks, not months.
Fake news
Anyone who has seen cowboys use long reins to control their horses knew this was all bogus from the outset.
The agents were not using the reins to threaten the migrants but to direct the horse. Cowboys often spin the reins by the horse's head to get the horse to move in a certain direction. It would appear that nobody in the Biden administration was aware of this or even bothered to consider it before making their allegations.
The agents were suspended without pay and had their job assignments changed, and when, after months and months, the results of the investigation were announced, the White House tried to hit the agents with bogus disciplinary actions to justify the initial narrative rather than the truth, which is that they never hurt the migrants.
Biden never publicly apologized to the agents, nor did Harris or anyone else who created this bogus narrative.
Noem apologizes
While the Biden administration never bothered to apologize, the Trump administration has reportedly righted this wrong.
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has reportedly "personally apologized" to these agents “for the way they were treated and mentioned that it should have never happened."
This was a great move by Noem to fix it, and I hope she also approved back pay for these agents, as well as a nice bonus for having put up with this garbage from the Biden administration.
I cannot say enough how much I support what this administration is doing at the border right now, including bringing lawsuits against sanctuary cities to test the validity of their sanctuary laws. I am tough on every administration, Republican or Democrat, but I have zero complaints on this front, and I hope Trump, Homan, and Noem keep the pedal to the medal on what they are doing to deport illegals and lock down our borders.
