Patel says FBI pivoting resources after Iran strike
It is only natural to think that terror cells in this country would be activated after the strike against Iran.
For that reason, FBI Director Kash Patel recently announced that the FBI will be redirecting assets to prevent any possible rogue attacks.
We have a problem
It was recently reported that over 1,500 Iranian nationals crossed the border during the Biden administration.
Of those, nearly half were permitted to enter the country.
Now, we are not saying that every Iranian is a terrorist, but there is real concern that terrorists have leaked into the country, and by my estimate, we probably have somewhere between 1,000 and 2,000 possible terrorists here just based on historical numbers.
Former FBI assistant director Chris Swecker is just as worried as I am about this, stating, “We missed the opportunity to gather intel by interviewing them and thoroughly vetting them.
"We just simply let them go, which is gross negligence on the part of the Biden administration."
Call to governors
Governors around the country have already been alerted by the FBI and DHS of possible threats,
An ABC News report stated, “Senior FBI and Homeland Security officials hosted conference calls with some of the nation's governors and top law enforcement officials on Sunday to discuss how the U.S. missile strikes in Iran impact an already dangerous threat environment, sources told ABC News.”
To be clear, intelligence has not picked up any chatter about terror cells being activated or a call to violence in the homeland as of yet, so this is all precautionary.
Pivoting
This week, it was reported that Patel has started to reallocate resources to fend off a potential terror threat, even though Patel has not made any such public announcement for obvious security reasons.
When the FBI was asked to confirm the report, it stated, "The FBI does not comment on specific operational adjustments or personnel decisions. However, we continuously assess and realign our resources to respond to the most pressing threats to our national security and to ensure the safety of the American people.”
However, the DHS did release a bulletin on this front, which stated, "The ongoing Iran conflict is causing a heightened threat environment in the United States. Low-level cyber attacks against US networks by pro-Iranian hacktivists are likely, and cyber actors affiliated with the Iranian government may conduct attacks against US networks.”
When Biden first took office, I expressed concerns on this front. About two years into Biden’s administration, I had stated that I was growing more concerned about possible terror attacks in the homeland due to the immigration numbers I was seeing. Now, while I fully back Trump’s strike against Iran, this gives terrorists the excuse they need, so we just have to hope our intelligence agencies are up to the task. Sadly, if something does happen, Democrats will look to place the blame on Trump when the real source of the problem is Biden’s failed immigration agenda.
