Possible Biden administration intelligence leak being investigated
Once again, it would appear that the Biden administration may have leaked classified information.
This time, it was strike plans by Israel that were posted on Telegram.
Oops, We Did It Again
Joe Biden and Democrats have been trying to pressure Israel to call for a cease-fire in the war against Hamas.
Israel has resisted, insisting the only way a cease-fire would even be considered is if all remaining hostages are released alive and unharmed. In the meantime, Hezbollah and Iran have joined in the conflict.
Iran recently attacked Israel, launching nearly 200 missiles, most of which were intercepted.
When Israel stated that it was going to have a retaliatory strike, Biden wanted them to dial that down since most of the missiles had been intercepted, but Netanyahu did not seem receptive to the idea.
Then, multiple outlets reported that documents attributed to the U.S. Geospatial Intelligence Agency and National Security Agency revealed that Israel was still moving assets into place for the strike. The documents were somehow leaked and posted on Telegram.
Johnson Responds
This not being the first time that the Biden administration has failed on this front, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) is demanding that the leak be investigated to find those responsible.
Johnson was on the circuit this weekend, where he explained his position on the matter. He told CNN’s Jake Tapper, “The leak is very concerning. There’s some serious allegations being made there, an investigation underway, and I’ll get a briefing on that in a couple of hours. We’re following it closely.”
Not Backing Down
For his part, Joe Biden continues to pressure Israel to halt the war. While talking to the media on Friday, he stated, “There’s an opportunity in my view – and my colleagues agree – that we can probably deal with Israel and Iran in a way that ends the conflict for a while. In other words, it stops the back and forth.”
Johnson, however, has continued to offer his unwavering support to Netanyahu to settle this issue as he sees fit.
Johnson stated, “I talked to my friend Bibi, Prime Minister Netanyahu, yesterday to encourage him.
“I think that the United States needs to stand unequivocally by our ally there… we’re on a precipice… of a new era of security and freedom for Israel. And I think we’re very close.”
I believe most people reading this would agree, as the support for Israel has been very solid in comparison to the support for Ukraine, where there continues to be resistance due to known corruption and the lack of accountability for the aid and supplies we have sent to Ukraine in its war against Russia.
