Private jet belonging to Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil involved in fatal crash
Fans of the legendary music group Mötley Crüe were stunned this week to learn of a fatal plane crash connected to one of the group's lead members.
According to the Daily Caller, a private jet belonging to group frontman Vince Neil was involved in a crash that resulted in the death of the pilot.
The incident happened as a result of the jet colliding with another jet. The crash reportedly took place at Scottsdale Airport.
Legal representatives for the band member confirmed that he wasn't aboard the jet. However, his girlfriend, Rain, her friend Ashley, and their dogs were on board and were expected to survive.
What happened?
Both of the women involved in the plane wreck were rushed to the hospital and authorities said they'll survive their injuries, which included multiple broken ribs.
Authorities released a statement, providing limited information regarding the incident, which reportedly took place on the runway at the airport.
"At 2:39 p.m. local time, a Learjet aircraft Model 35A owned by Vince Neil was attempting to land at the Scottsdale Airport. For reasons unknown at this time, the plane veered from the runway causing it to collide with another parked plane. On board Mr. Neil’s plane were two pilots and two passengers," the statement read.
Immediately after the crash, first responders rushed to the scene while airport officials shut down the runway to conduct an investigation into what led to the fatal incident.
Initial findings in the investigation indicated that one of the landing gears of the plane failed on the runway, causing it to veer off and collide with the parked plane.
