Ramaswamy files paperwork for Ohio gubernatorial run

Vivek Ramaswamy was a wild card entry into the 2024 presidential race, but he always seemed to be playing the long game to me.

Ramaswamy, in my opinion, is a con artist, but he worked MAGA, and he worked Trump, and how he is embedded in the GOP, which now apparently includes a run at a governor in Ohio.

Trump Calls on Ramaswamy and Musk to Head DOGE

If you haven't figured it out yet, I'm not a fan of Ramaswamy. He made his money on pump-and-dump schemes for medical shocks that likely bankrupted tens of thousands of investors who took him at his word.

When he started sucking up to Trump during the election, I stated from the outset that he had an agenda to get into Trump's inner circle for personal gain, and he proved me right.

After Trump won the nomination, Ramaswamy immediately backed Trump and started to campaign for him, to the point that Trump eventually tapped Ramaswamy and Musk to head DOGE.

In making the appointments, Trump stated, "Together, these two wonderful Americans will pave the way for my administration to dismantle government bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure federal agencies − Essential to the “Save America” movement."

Ramaswamy Bails on DOGE

Just as I had predicted, Ramaswamy used his connections to Trump to further his political career and agenda, but there were rumors that all was not well.

After about two weeks of working together, there were whispers in DC that there was a lot of tension between Musk and Ramaswamy. It's an assumption on my part, but I believe Musk saw through the con and wanted Ramaswamy out of the picture. There were also rumors that Trump was getting tired of Ramaswamy creating problems for him among his MAGA followers, mostly due to his stance on work visas and some very harsh criticism about the intelligence of Americans.

All of a sudden, it was revealed that Ramaswamy was going to leave DOGE, with the exit being explained as his interest in running for Governor. Anna Kelly, a spokesperson for DOGE, stated, “Vivek Ramaswamy played a critical role in helping us create DOGE.

“He intends to run for elected office soon, which requires him to remain outside of DOGE, based on the structure that we announced today. We thank him immensely for his contributions over the last 2 months and expect him to play a vital role in making America great again.”

Paperwork is Filed

With Ramaswamy out of DOGE, the rumors started to fly that he would be running for governor in Ohio. this week, it was announced that Ramaswamy had, in fact, filed his paperwork, and he is expected to kick off his campaign on February 24 in Cincinnati, his hometown.

Ramaswamy and JD Vance went to college together, so he will get this administration's endorsement. He has also become friends with Donald Trump Jr., so I expect him to support Ramaswamy as well.

Again, I refuse to get on this wagon because I think he is unscrupulous and dangerous. He says what people want to hear, and he is a great orator, which makes him very dangerous. But I don't believe he can be trusted.

I am also worried that if he wins this race, it will give him a rather significant profile, and he would wind up on Vance's ticket as his VP, which I could never support. There is simply no way I would EVER support Ramaswamy having a role in our government because I know it would always be self-serving for him and I believe, ultimately, he will stab us all in the back. To that point, I am hoping someone better primaries him and beats him in that race or he will get his talons into the party and we will never be able to remove him.
