Recent polling is great news for the Trump administration
If you were to look at most news outlets, you would think the Trump administration is failing miserably in the eyes of the American people.
That, however, is not the case, as Trump just got more good news in feedback from voters.
Threat to Democracy
Democrats continue to push this threat to democracy angle when it comes to Donald Trump, but that is nothing new, and it is also at the heart of why Democrats are failing right now.
For nearly a decade, Democrats and the media have been calling Trump a threat to Democracy, even though they have failed to prove it and are now losing elections over this.
Let’s go back to an article on Harvard’s Law website back in 2019, literally titled “Trump and the Threat to Democracy.”
The article was written by Professor Michael Klarman, a Kirkland & Ellis Professor at Harvard Law School, where he teaches constitutional law. I won’t go into the piece here, but I encourage you to read it to understand this mindset that has dominated liberals and the Democrat Party for most of the last decade.
The Good News
CNN recently released a poll that was very good news for Trump, and a new one from Fox News was also positive, but there were some concerns.
Trump’s approval rating in the poll was 49%, about as good as it gets for Trump. It is down from 52% approval rating in January, but that was to be expected with the tariff war and the media now in full attack mode against him.
For Democrats, the poll was devastating, with 66% disapproving of the job they are doing in Congress.
They seem to forget that Trump won this election in a landslide, so there were a considerable number of their voters who pulled the handle for Trump. Now, I know they won’t work with Trump on everything, but they should really be sucking it up and helping on issues like immigration, which clearly hit home with the majority of the country.
Concerning
To be clear, the majority of people polled support the concept of DOGE, but it is now creating some concerns among voters.
Democrats have been hammering the narrative that Trump is going to cut Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. Yet, in the framework of the spending bill that was passed in the House, that was not even mentioned. But I do understand the concern.
This is why the GOP has to immediately come up with and share its plan to reform these programs while not cutting out legitimate recipients.
Overall, I would say this is about as good as can be expected for Trump, but also realize that he is getting a longer leash because Democrats cannot get out of their way. As soon as Dems get their act together, this is going to be a problem, which is why I stress the urgency of Trump being more transparent and showing the American people his plan rather than simply firing from the hip all the time.
