REPORT: Biden aides warned against giving nomination to Harris

When Joe Biden withdrew from the presidential race, there were only a handful of politicians who were less popular than Biden.

I have always felt that Joe Biden tried to stick it Dems for forcing him out of the election by endorsing Harris right away, that theory appears more likely after a new report that Biden had been repeatedly warned that nobody like Harris by his aides.

Biden Withdrawal from Race

Biden made it clear that he never wanted to leave this race, but he eventually succumbed to pressure from the party to drop out, even though he was elected by voters to represent the Democrat Party.

Biden, at the time, stated, “It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.”

After about 30 minutes to think about it, Biden decided to hand the nomination to Harris by endorsing her, stunning party leadership.

Biden stated, “Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump.”

Kamala Gets a Boost

Just months before this happened, polling had shown Harris with less than 40% approval, so this did not make sense for Biden to anoint her in this manner.

She did, however, get a boost from the endorsement and being gifted the nomination, as the liberal horde started to fall in line.

Her approval rating shot up by 13% for no apparent reason other than the party rallying behind her for the presidential election.

Harris was even spotted about a 4-point lead in polling over Trump, but just as had happened in the Democrat primary race in 2020, the more people saw of Harris, the less they liked her, and she eventually lost that lead, with Trump winning the election in a landslide electoral college win as well as a popular vote win.

Biden Was Warned

This weekend, reports surfaced that Biden has been warned against endorsing Harris, with his aides telling him that “No one wants her.”

A new book, “Fight: Inside the Wildest Battle for the White House,” details the warnings given to Biden by top aides and Democrat donors against gifting the nomination to Harris.

The authors wrote, “The last threat, the ace in the hole, was Kamala Harris. Even if Biden did drop out and you got your dreamed-up open convention, you would only succeed in nominating the vice-president. Is that what you want? You want her? Look at her polling. No one wants her. Forget it. It’s never gonna happen.”

I have always believed that other than getting the female and minority votes by adding Harris to his ticket, Biden made Harris his VP to keep her close and ruin her career for insinuating he was a racist during the primary debates. Then, I think he endorsed her hoping she would lose to get back at the party for removing him from the race. After seeing the passages from this book, I am leaning into that theory more than ever.
