REPORT: Biden DOJ attorneys emails show concern over mass pardons
The Biden autopen scandal is much like the Epstein files for Trump… it just won’t go away.
Every few days, something else comes up that presents a more damning picture of what was taking place over the last few days of the Biden administration when those commutations were issued.
Today, it is a report documenting DOJ emails about the pardons and commutations.
It Was Me, or Not
When this issue first arose, Biden came out to see that he “made every decision” regarding the clemencies that were granted during his administration, only that was not necessarily true.
The more Biden talked, the more it became clear that he had only set parameters, but he was not the one making the final call.
Biden even admitted that his staff was permitted to use the autopen because “we’re talking about a lot of people.”
In all honesty, and as I had predicted, this is about what we had expected Biden to say. He surely was not going to openly confess that he was letting other people call the shots in his administration.
It Was Zients
As FOIA requests were coming through on these communications, it became apparent that it was actually Biden’s Chief of Staff, Jeff Zients, who had been authorizing the final approval of the commutations.
In one email, Zients proclaimed, "I approve the use of the autopen for the execution of all of the following pardons.”
The report further backed up our claim that Biden was merely setting parameters, claiming, "Rather, after extensive discussion of different possible criteria, he signed off on the standards he wanted to be used to determine which convicts would qualify for a reduction in sentence.”
When the report came out, Trump responded, "I guarantee you he knew nothing about what he was signing, I guarantee you.” I am with Trump on this one. While they may have mentioned this to Biden, I highly doubt he oversaw the mass of paperwork and personally looked over every name on the list.
Befuddled
As often happens, the paper trail trickles in, and that is what is happening here, as more emails from DOJ officials have been revealed, and it shows chaos in the DOJ over these pardons and commutations.
Then-White House Staff Secretary Stef Feldman, a key gatekeeper of the presidential autopen, demanded proof that Biden had approved the use of the autopen for this, writing, “I’m going to need email from [Deputy Assistant to the President] Rosa [Po] on original chain confirming P[resident] signs off on the specific documents when they are ready.” This created panic.
Deputy White House counsel Tyeesha Dixon sent a message to Michael Posada, chief of staff to the White House counsel’s office, asking, “Michael, thoughts on how to handle this? He doesn’t review the warrants.”
The mass clemency was approved at 4:59 a.m., not exactly Biden’s normal hours of operation, which we know from staffers who were interviewed, claiming Biden kept banker’s hours. Yet, the approval was given in the wee hours of the morning when most bars were closing. This stinks to high heavens, and this is but one aspect of this report in the New York Post, which I highly encourage you to read.
We clearly have not gotten to the bottom of this, but we are getting close, and when we do, there are going to be a lot of people who have considerable actions for which they must answer.
