REPORT: Biden spending spree during final days in office
With DOGE now top of mind in this country, there is a lot of buzz about the spending done by the Biden administration as Joe’s final days ticked off the clock.
Some of the spending has already been reported, but this appears to be far worse than originally thought.
Spend That Money
Biden clearly wanted his legacy to be that of the “green” president, and he did everything he could to secure taxpayer money for his buddies in the green sector during his last few weeks in office.
During that time, the Biden administration reportedly issued nearly $1 billion in grants to nonprofits around the country, with far too many of them being Biden allies or former staffers.
Recent reports have shown that some of these organizations had not even been in business for very long, having not yet filed their first tax reports before receiving substantial checks from the administration.
For example, one grant was issued for $50 million to the Tribal Energy Consortium. This is a group that posted less than $50,000 in revenue over the last two years prior to receiving that grant, so ask yourself how they were even remotely considered for such a large sum of money.
The Podesta File
John Podesta has been entrenched in the Democrat establishment since I can remember, long before I even started to cover politics.
He worked in the Clinton and the Obama administrations, and Biden brought him in as one of his top climate czars during his administration.
Podesta was reportedly in charge of distributing the $375 billion slush fund in the EPA, and again, it went to some very questionable organizations, many without a record to stand on to justify that kind of support with taxpayer money.
As an example, Harris was given a check from this fund for $7 billion that went to the Climate United Fund, an organization not even listed in the IRS’s charities database at the time. This was more or less the Biden administration, more specifically Podesta, emptying the coffers before they lost access to all that money.
The Biden Spending Spree
While all the press has been over the wilding spending going out the door, this was reportedly happening the entire time that Biden was in office.
For instance, the Department of Commerce’s budget increased from approximately $13 million in 2021 to more than $20 million in 2024.
A report from OpenTheBooks explained, “Time after time, at agency after agency, we see spending skyrocketing since 2000, even when headcounts grew modestly and stayed flat. In this most recent batch of examples, we also saw Biden administration spending priorities reveal themselves through the outlays at key agencies.”
There has not been a president since Bill Clinton who managed to balance the budget, so reckless spending is not out of the norm, but the Biden administration clearly took this to a whole new level, which is why DOGE is so important. Something tells me we are only seeing the tip of the iceberg on this front.
