Report: FBI had thousands of agents assigned to J6 prosecutions

I just read a very interesting report about the January 6 investigations and how it impacted the ability of the FBI to conduct its business.

If I told you that roughly half the agents in the agency had been pulled off other assignments to cover these prosecutions, how do think that would impact the FBIs investigations? Well, that appears to be exactly what happened.

The FBI Workforce

All told, the FBI has about 38,000 employees, both civilian and agents.

Of the 38,000, about 10,000 of them are agents.

The remainder of the staffers are support professionals, including intelligence analysts, linguistic specialists, and scientists, among others, who support the agents in the investigations.

Now, how many of those agents do you think were working on the January 6 cases?

Shocking Numbers

Of the 38,000 or so employees that work at the FBI, roughly 5,000 of them were working on the January 6 cases.

That is more than 13% of the entire agency working on these cases, with agents clearly getting pulled from their normal details to work on the investigations.

For instance, in 2023, the Daily Wire published a report that the FBI had halted an investigation into a pedophile ring to move the agents over to help with the J6 prosecutions. One of the alleged targets of that operation is alleged to have been having sex with a 10-year-old boy after the investigation was dropped.

According to court documents in the case, “On January 6, 2021, FBI, Washington Field Office, [decided] this investigation was halted due to events that occurred at the United States Capitol Building that day.”

We Need Answers

We still don’t know the exact number of actual agents that were working the case, but it easily more than 10% of agents, which is astonishing.

When Acting Director Driscoll was told to hand over the documentation on these agents by Acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove, he resisted, leading Bove to accuse current FBI leadership of being “insubordinate.”

As I have stated before, there are clearly dozens of people who deserve to be in jail from that riot, but I think it is safe to say that the majority of the defendants, many of whom were literally just walking around the Capitol, were overcharged to set an example so this never happens again.

But to put people at risk to make a political statement? These are children we are talking about who were victimized because the previous administration wanted to make a political statement. If that is not the weaponization of our law enforcement, please explain to me what is.
