REPORT: Justice official perjured herself during Russian collusion investigation
I am honestly not sure we will ever be able to get away from the Russian collusion investigation, as more and more information surfaces regarding the corruption of that investigation.
The latest being the possible perjury by a DOJ official who was reportedly neck deep in the investigation, but it gets much more involved than simple perjury.
No Collusion
Most of us believe the Russian collusion allegations against Trump were nothing more than a vehicle for the Democrats to try to block Trump from being president.
The investigation was eventually spearheaded by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who found there was no collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russians.
The investigation took 22 months to conclude, and we spent millions of taxpayer dollars to confirm what we already knew.
Within that investigation, however, they did find plenty wrong, and now another narrative has popped up that Trump is going to jump all over.
Hi Honey
Going back to 2019, there was a report that slipped under the radar regarding Nellie Ohr, who was married to a high-ranking DOJ official, Associate Deputy Attorney General Bruce Ohr.
Nellie Ohr worked for Fusion GPS, the firm that put together the Steele dossier that the FBI used to secure FISA warrants during the Russian collusion investigation.
At the time, a series of emails from Nellie to her husband were found, which brought concerns that reporting in the dossier was being funneled to the DOJ.
A FOIA report found that Ohr was sending her husband intelligence, but that is hardly where this tale stops.
Perjury
FBI records that were just released show that Nellie Ohr appeared to commit perjury when she testified about her involvement in the dossier. FBI evidence shows that Ohr was involved in compiling the dossier, but she testified under oath before Congress that she knew nothing about the DOJ’s investigation into the matter. She also denied communicating with prosecutors but as noted above, we know that not to be true as well.
The FBI document, dated September 2019, stated, “There is probable cause to believe that Bruce and Nellie did communicate with each other about their respective activity in furtherance of the Russia-collusion investigations and/or narrative.”
Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) now appears on a mission to make Ohr pay, stating, “Ohr never suffered consequences for advancing the phony Trump-Russia narrative and attempting to cover up her involvement in the hoax. Yet time and again, the American justice system has been weaponized against President Trump and his associates with reckless abandon.”
Grassley is 100% right, as the only justice we seem to get these days is when someone on the right does something wrong. I would love to see this issue pursued, and perhaps it would be a nice project for our new US Attorney for the District of Columbia to work on. Judge Jeanine… get to work!
