REPORT: Nations already reaching out to Trump for tariff deals
Donald Trump’s trade war has sparked outrage and concern, but I have been adamant we all need to be patient here.
To that point, the administration is now reporting that dozens of nations have reached out to Trump to start working out a deal.
Panic
How many times have I stated that Democrats and liberals thrive on chaos? Well, that is exactly what they are doing with the market right now.
Over the last week, media pundits have been comparing the market crash to the crash of 1987, saying we are on the verge of another depression.
CNBC host Jim Cramer, who is arguably the worst investment adviser on the planet, just predicted that the market would completely crash on Monday, stating, “If the president doesn’t try to reach out and reward these countries and companies that play by the rules, then the 1987 scenario … the one where we went down three days and then down 22% on Monday, has the most cogency.”
Once again, Cramer was wrong: the market dipped on the opening bell, but gradually made its way back to close down about 488 points as of this report. Another bad day, but nothing like what people like Cramer were predicting, with the market even showing signs of a comeback already.
UK Prime Minster declares globalization dead
Some people get what Trump is doing, and they actually support it in terms of looking to establish the US as the top dog again.
To that point, U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s office stated, "The world has changed, globalization is over and we are now in a new era.
"We’ve got to demonstrate that our approach, a more active Labour government, a more reformist government, can provide the answers for people in every part of this country."
They may not agree with Trump, but they understand why he is doing it. Trump has always vowed to put the United States first, and while there will be some pain for all of us initially, I still believe this will work out to our benefit when the dust finally settles.
50 nations reaching out
This was a roll of the dice by Trump, making a strong move on the premise that other nations would reach out to reduce tariffs they had in place against the United States.
Well, it is already working, with Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick announcing that dozens of nations have already reached out to the Trump administration, hoping to make a deal.
He stated, “The president needs to reset global trade. Everybody has a trade surplus and we have a trade deficit. It’s not fair. The rules are made not fair, and President Trump is going to fix them, and he’s doing it for America.”
As other Trump advisers have hinted, the best deals are going to come for the people who reach out the earliest, as Trump will look to drive a harder bargain with those falling in line late. My guess is that within a month or two, most of these tariffs will have been reduced or eliminated as deals are struck, so we just need to be patient and ride this out.
