REPORT: ‘The View’ co-hosts ordered to dial down the anti-Trump rhetoric
If you have ever watched “The View,” you know this is a very slanted program with no mercy for Trump.
It now appears that ABC executives have had enough, reportedly telling the co-hosts of the show to dial down the anti-Trump rhetoric.
The Trump Win
The rhetoric during the first term was bad, but when Trump won his second term, the ladies on “The View” really went off the deep end.
For instance, co-host Sunny Hostin stated, "I worry about my children's future, especially my daughter, who now has less rights than I had.
"I remember my father telling me many, many years ago, that I was the first person in his family to enjoy full civil rights. And now I have less civil rights than I had when he told me that."
This was typical of what they would say, painting Trump as a racist and every other “ist” and “ic” word you can think of.
Fascist Pig
When Trump’s former Chief of Staff John Kelly did an interview with The New York Times, co-host Joy Behar pounced, never one to be shy about her hatred of Donald Trump.
At the time, she stated, "How many times do we have to hear him [Trump] refer to immigrants as animals and Hitler called for cleansing Germany of all those parasites, referring to immigrants.
“And he called Jews lice, and this guy Trump calls people vermin. It's the same language that Hitler used."
Comparing Trump to Hitler… really? This is the type of rhetoric that gets the loonies all fired up, having them want to take a shot at Trump.
Dial It Down
Reports are now blowing up that the powers that be, including Disney CEO Bob Iger, are telling the ladies to knock off the constant attacks and over-the-top rhetoric against Trump.
The report stated, “Multiple Disney sources told The Daily Beast that both Iger and ABC News President Almin Karamehmedovic recently suggested that the all-female daytime talk show panel be less antagonistic on political issues, though the recommendation was reportedly not taken too seriously.”
The report went on to say that the ladies found the report “silly,” with one source stating the ladies had responded, "This is what our audience wants. Isn’t it gonna look kind of bad if we’re all of a sudden not talking about politics?"
I would say this… if you want to be critical of Donald Trump, by all means, criticize. I mean, heck, I am arguably the most critical of Trump of any conservative writer, but I would never dream of calling the man a Nazi, or even insinuating he was in that same ballpark. I call out Trump when he makes a mistake, lies, or promotes bad policy, but that is my job. They can still talk tough against Trump without the Nazi references… and I think that is what management was asking of them.
