REPORT: Trump Changing Convention Speech to Focus on Unity

Donald Trump has decided to dial it down just a bit after avoiding death by less than an inch.

Trump is reportedly changing the narrative of his convention speech to be about unity.

According to other reports, Trump has also asked his surrogates to back off the Biden attacks and not to mention his assassination.

Time to Change

Trump was ready to go after Biden with both barrels before the assassination attempt, but it looks like he and Biden have decided to back it down.

Trump and Biden reportedly had a “good call” after the assassination attempt, and Biden noticeably backed off his rhetoric after the failed assassination attempt.

My guess is that during that call, he and Trump called a truce, and decided to make this election about the issues, not each other.

To that point, Trump stated, “The speech I was going to give on Thursday was going to be a humdinger.

“Had this not happened, this would’ve been one of the most incredible speeches” aimed mostly at the policies of President Joe Biden.

“Honestly, it’s going to be a whole different speech now.”

Trump had also posted on Truth Social, “This is a chance to bring the whole country, even the whole world, together. The speech will be a lot different, a lot different than it would’ve been two days ago.”

The reality of the situation is finally sinking in as well, as I a sure Trump has seen the photo of the bullet heading toward the side of his head just as he turned to point to a graph at the rally.

Trump stated, “That reality is just setting in.

“I rarely look away from the crowd. Had I not done that in that moment, well, we would not be talking today, would we?”

Trump also commented on why he fought through his protection detail to show the crowd that he was okay, pumping his fist and saying, “Fight!”

Trump stated, “The energy coming from the people there in that moment, they just stood there.

“It’s hard to describe what that felt like, but I knew the world was looking. I knew that history would judge this, and I knew I had to let them know we are OK.”

Trump is right. This is a great chance to restore some normalcy in our political world and end the rhetoric.

My only question is what happens if Trump gets elected again? Will Dems keep this about the issues, or will they refire the rhetoric to inspire another assassination attempt?
