RFK Jr.’s son Conor Kennedy celebrates Rio wedding with Brazilian pop star Giulia Be

Conor Kennedy and Brazilian pop star Giulia Be staged a three-day Rio de Janeiro wedding celebration after a quiet Los Angeles civil ceremony, drawing family photos shared by Health secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Page Six reported that Conor Kennedy, son of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., marked his marriage to Brazilian singer Giulia Bourguignon Marinho with a sprawling celebration across Rio de Janeiro’s beaches, mountaintops, and historic streets.

The couple had already married in a private civil ceremony in Los Angeles in March. The public festivities in the bride’s hometown kicked off Oct. 8 and quickly filled social media with images of the wedding party.

Marinho, who performs as Giulia Be, made clear she wanted the party in Brazil, not New England. She recalled telling her then-fiancé she loved him but would not get married in Massachusetts, and she framed the trip as a chance to host his family and friends in the city she loves.

Christ the Redeemer blessing and a historic downtown church

The three-day schedule mixed tourist icons with private gatherings. Festivities reportedly began with a welcome party in the hills of Alto da Boa Vista. Guests later played beach volleyball on Ipanema before a blessing at the Christ the Redeemer statue atop Corcovado Mountain in Tijuca National Park.

The church ceremony was held at Igreja Nossa Senhora do Carmo da Antiga Sé, known as the Antiga Sé, in Rio’s historic center. The building dates to 1808 and once served as a royal chapel and cathedral after the Portuguese court arrived in Brazil.

The reception followed at a historic mansion tied to the Instituto Brando Barbosa in the Jardim Botânico neighborhood, near the city’s famed botanical garden. For the blessing, Marinho wore a Calvin Klein slip dress that Vogue linked in style to the understated look associated with Carolyn Bessette Kennedy.

Secretary Kennedy, who serves in the Trump administration alongside other senior appointees tracked in coverage of Trump’s White House press secretary pick, shared family photos from the trip on social media.

Those images showed the wedding party beneath Christ the Redeemer, his wife Cheryl Hines with samba dancers, and the newlyweds checking their phones for updates on a Seminoles-Cardinals game. His new daughter-in-law answered on Instagram with warm thanks.

"Love you, Bobby."

She added that it made her happy to see everyone enjoying her hometown.

Bride told Vogue the party was for Rio as much as the vows

Marinho described the setting in direct terms. Speaking to Vogue, she said the couple wanted to celebrate both the marriage and the city.

"We wanted to celebrate not just the wedding, but also Rio de Janeiro, the city we love."

She also said standing overlooks of Rio with family became a moment she would not forget. In an earlier interview with Globo, she called the gathering the only chance to bring Kennedy’s friends and family to Brazil and said she wanted to show them a good time.

The Kennedy name still draws a crowd, and Conor’s grandfather was the late Sen. Robert F. Kennedy, brother of President John F. Kennedy. That legacy sits beside a more current fact: Conor’s father now runs HHS under President Trump, a tenure unfolding in the same news cycle as fights over White House credentials for CNN and other outlets.

None of that policy noise appears to have followed the guests onto Ipanema or into the Antiga Sé. The coverage stays on vows, venues, and family snapshots, an overseas wedding for a cabinet official’s son rather than a Washington story.

Even so, administration families rarely leave the public eye for long. Readers following personnel turns such as Katie Zacharia’s brief White House press exit already know how quickly personal schedules and West Wing headlines can share the same week.

Page Six’s account places the civil marriage months earlier and the Rio pageantry in early October, with images still moving online in recent days. The bride’s line about skipping Massachusetts and hosting in Brazil is the clearest statement of motive in the record.

Cabinet life in Trump’s Washington can mean press-pool fights one day and family milestones the next, including episodes like CNN’s exclusion from Air Force One on a Trump football trip. Here the cameras caught samba, a mountaintop blessing, and a historic church instead of a briefing room.

A cabinet secretary’s son chose beaches and a centuries-old church over a Massachusetts template, and the bride made sure Rio, not the Beltway, set the terms.
