Schiff Demands Senate Reject Nemesis Kash Patel to Head FBI
With Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) moving over to the Senate, it sets up a major confrontation between Schiff and Kash Patel, who Donald Trump just nominated to head the FBI.
Schiff is already making moves, asking the Senate to disqualify Patel.
Schiff v. Nunes
In 2018, then-Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) released a bombshell memo alleging FISA warrant abuse in the FBI.
At the time, Kash Patel was working for Nunes, and he is believed to have been the architect behind the memo.
Schiff released his own memo, pushing back on every claim made by Nunes at the time.
The media accepted Schiff’s version, which we later found out was all lies. Nunes' letter was more or less on the money in every accusation made, all backed up by a DOJ Inspector General's report on the investigation.
Trump Nominates Patel to Head the FBI
When Donald Trump nominated Patel to head the FBI, it sent a shockwave through DC.
I have my reservations about Patel, but it is not because I believe the FBI needs to be protected from him. Quite the contrary.
I would have loved to have seen Patel as the Deputy Director with the sole purpose of cleaning up the agency, but I have some reservations about him being given the full set of keys here.
Democrats, however, are terrified of him because they know he will be on a mission to remove the deep state from the agency and will do so without reservation, and that is exactly why Schiff is trying to call in some favors.
Schiff Wants Patel Disqualified
Trump had no sooner nominated Patel when Schiff started posting about disqualifying him from consideration. For instance, Schiff posted, "Kash Patel has publicly called for arresting members of the media and government officials. And he is willing to do whatever Trump asks. Illegal, unethical or otherwise.
“More suited as internet troll than FBI Director, the Senate must reject him.”
Going back to Schiff’s letter, it was the Department of Justice Inspector General’s office that debunked the Schiff memo, yet nobody really talks about that and they continue to treat Schiff like royalty in the party.
I, for one, hope that Patel makes it to committee because I am very much looking forward to a head-to-head battle between Schiff and Patel. Patel will have no problem calling out Schiff for his many lies to his face, and I can already see his face getting red and ready to explode with every claim made by Patel. This, my friends, is going to be a fun one.
