Schumer stunt on Trump tariff’s backfires

Democrats have become the party of political theater these days, and everyone knows it.

After calling Trump a racist and Nazi, Joe Biden’s first words to Trump when he showed up at the White House on January 20, 2025, were, “Welcome home,” but that was nothing to the idiotic stunt pulled by Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY).

The Trump Tariffs

As most of you probably know by now, Donald Trump threatened Mexico and Canada with a 25% tariff if they did not do their part to secure the border.

The pushback was immediate, but the fact of the matter is that both of these countries need the United States more than we need them.

Even so, people were panicking, with builders in this country looking at rising costs because of the lumber we use from Canada, and Dems talking about the rising price in groceries.

It was all for nothing, however, because after Trump swung the big stick, both Mexico and Canada caved.

Schumer’s Stupid Stunt

Before the deals were made with Mexico and Canada, Schumer decided to have a press conference to hammer the tariffs, but it was one of the most idiotic things I have ever seen.

Schumer talked about the rising costs of Corona and guacamole, which had everyone laughing at the Democrats.

Jon Stewart blasted Dems for running out Schumer to counter Trump’s media savvy.

They Just Caved

While both Mexico and Canada talked tough, it did not last very long, as both countries caved within days of the deadline threat.

Mexico agreed to send 10,000 National Guard troops to the border with the primary function of slowing down the fentanyl that continues to pour into this country.

Canada then announced that it was going to spend more than $1 billion on its border, helping the United States to secure its northern border, with Trump stating, “I am very pleased with this initial outcome, and the Tariffs announced on Saturday will be paused for a 30 day period to see whether or not a final Economic deal with Canada can be structured. FAIRNESS FOR ALL!”

This is what happens when you have the biggest stick in the yard and use it, which Joe Biden was terrified to do. Our allies have been taking advantage of us for most of the last two or three decades, most of which have some with Democrats in charge of the White House. Say what you want about Trump, but he is getting them all back in line again. The days of walking over the United States are over… at least for the next four years.
