Second Trump shooting victim released from hospital

It's never going to be an event that's looked at through a positive lens, because one of Donald Trump's supporters will forever be deceased as a result of the gunfire that rained down on him in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13.

That doesn't mean we shouldn't celebrate the positive things that happen as this story unfolds, though.

Shortly after the first shooting victim, David Dutch, was released from the hospital, a second shooting victim, James Copenhaver, has also been released.

Dan Laurent, the Allegheny Health Network's vice president of corporate communicates, shared the good news:

"David Dutch was discharged from Allegheny General Hospital on July 24, and James Copenhaver was discharged on July 26."

James Copenhaver, who is 74 years old, was critically injured by gunman Thomas Crooks while he was watching Donald Trump speak in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Copenhaver's family released some statements in the days following the shooting, saying that Copenhaver would require time to recover from "life-altering" injuries.

It's nothing short of a major shame that Copenhaver has had his life altered, but we can at least be thankful that he didn't have his life ended.

That's unfortunately what happened to former fire chief Corey Comperatore, who was killed at the rally when he dove on top of his family to protect them from the gunfire.

Reportedly, Comperatore flung his body over his wife and two daughters to protect them when the shooting started.

Tragically, it would be the last decision that the father of two would ever make.

Thomas Crooks and the incompetence of America's Secret Service dramatically changed the lives of at least three American families forever.

Former Secret Service boss Kimberly Cheatle has already resigned, but is that enough from the person who let the agency fall into such disarray they couldn't protect the president or his fans?

The family of Corey Comperatore probably doesn't think so.
