Secret Service opens fire on man at White House

The attacks against Trump seem as though they will continue throughout this presidency.

After two assassination attempts were made against Trump during the campaign, there have been at least two more events since Trump took office, one of them resulting in the Secret Service firing at a man in DC.

Secret Service opens fire

Reports surfaced early Sunday morning that the Secret Service opened fire on a man trying to infiltrate the White House.

According to local reports, local police had been alerted that a man with suicidal tendencies from Indiana had made his way to DC and was headed toward the White House, possibly to try to confront Trump.

Trump was in Florida at the time, but that did not stop the man from confronting Secret Service agents with a firearm and knife.

Agents spotted the man after having found a car nearby that matched the description of the suspect’s car. When they approached the man they believed the car belonged to, agents stated he “reached toward his waist,” at which point agents opened fire.

He’s been identified

The man was later identified as Andrew Dawson, 27, from North Manchester, IN.

Police had been put on alert that he was trying to commit suicide by cop, with Dawson around the Eisenhower Executive Office Building at the time of the shooting.

That building is about a four-minute walk to the White House.

After being shot, Dawson was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, but authorities have not yet released his condition.

Another Incident

The lunacy did not stop there, as the Air Force was forced to scramble on two different occasions when planes entered the no-fly zone over Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home. According to reports, a plane entered the no-fly zone early Sunday afternoon, the second time it had done so in about 48 hours.

The Air Force scrambled fighter jets to intercept the plane, firing warning flares in the area to get the plane to change direction and leave the restricted air space. According to the Air Force, the flares did their job, and the plane was escorted out of the area by the fighters.

This has been a regular problem since Trump won the election, with a statement being released on the matter, stating, “Since the January 20, 2025 presidential inauguration, NORAD has responded to over 20 tracks of interest entering the Palm Beach, Florida temporary flight restrictions area.”

I am sure some of these planes were not aware of the restrictions now in place, but I doubt that is the case for all of them. I fear someone is testing the system to see how close they can get before the fighters arrive to escort them out of the air space. I highly doubt the last attempt on Trump’s life will, in fact, be the last attempt. There are just way too many loonies out there horrified by the fact the bad orange man is back in office.
