Sen. Chris Murphy mocked for bragging about confirmation protest
Democrats are still acting so weird since President Donald Trump's roaring victory in November.
In their latest hilarious stunt, according to Fox News, some Democratic senators thought it would be a noble and good idea to protest the confirmation of Office of Management and Budget (OMB) head Russ Vought.
It backfired, spectacularly. Some of the senators who protested all night against Vought's confirmation were hailed by their supporters as "brave and stunning."
Vought was ultimately confirmed in the upper chamber without much of an issue.
What happened?
Instead of focusing on America and at least their constitutents, the Democratic senators who protested the confirmation, which inluded Sen. Chris Murphy, wasted all of their time crying about Vought's confirmation, which probably gave Trump a good, hearty laugh.
Murphy, in the most dramatic and cringey way possible, bragged about his protest efforts, saying in a social media post that he was up all night "drinking Red Bull" because Democracy was "on the line."
"After taking the 2-5am shift on the Senate floor last night for our overnight protest, got 2 hours of crappy sleep on my office couch and right back at it today," Murphy posted on X. "We don’t rest. Keep going. Democracy on the line."

Fox News noted:
Murphy, whose post was accompanied by a photo of a Red Bull energy drink and video explaining his cause, was on the Senate floor late Wednesday night attempting to block the confirmation of Office of Management and Budget nominee Russ Vought until the "crisis" of Musk’s DOGE crackdown "passes."
To say that Murphy was mocked for the post would be an understatement.
Social media responds
Users across social media absolutely destroyed Murphy for writing the silly post.
"Try sleeping in a tent is freezing temperatures because your home was destroyed 6 months ago and - though promised - help never came. Enjoy your couch," one X user wrote.
Another X user wrote, "Good work Chris you stayed up for nothing. You don’t seem to realize that the vast majority of Americans don’t agree your team(religion, clearly) was taking us on the right path. Accept it."
Only time will tell what the next Dem-led stunt will be.
