Several Biden officials agree to testify before Congress
The House Oversight Committee is looking to investigate the cognitive decline of Joe Biden.
Several Biden officials have agreed to testify before the committee, but I am not sure Chairman James Comer (R-LA) is going to have the desired outcome here.
"Original Sin"
While we all knew Biden was not 100% there, the mainstream media looked the other way during Biden’s presidency.
Then, after he left office, all of a sudden these tell-all books, like Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson’s “Original Sin,” start popping up.
Tapper’s reporting would have been exceptional had he reported on this in real-time like we were, but now it just comes off as being opportunistic, not to mention an apparent blatant admission that he was not doing his job as a journalist when Biden was in office.
Nevertheless, there are ample insiders who gave up the tapes on Biden, which has now encouraged the House to investigate who was covering for Biden and, more importantly, who was really running the White House.
Still covering
So far, only one of Biden’s former officials are addressed this issue on the record and openly with the media.
Former Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra was recently asked about the reports in the book and what he saw while working with Biden, and he responded, "I met with President Biden when needed to make important decisions and to execute with my team at HHS.
"It’s clear the President was getting older, but he made the mission clear: run the largest health agency in the world, expand care to millions more Americans than ever before, negotiate down the cost of prescription drugs, and pull us out of a world-wide pandemic. And we delivered."
That was a very skillful way of saying that he would prefer not to truthfully admit what he saw from Biden, so I would not really be counting on other officials to come clean.
Coming forward
This week, Comer announced that a handful of former Biden officials were going to come forward to testify before the House, including Neera Tanden, Anthony Bernal, Ashley Williams, and Annie Tomasini.
Comer has also requested the presence of Anita Dunn and Ron Klain.
The person I am most interested in hearing from is Bernal, who was Jill Biden’s top adviser and apparently someone who created a hostile work environment at the White House.
Let me be clear... I don’t really expect any of these people to give up the tapes on Joe Biden, but getting them under oath denying it is far more important to me. I want them under oath, then I want the investigation to show that they lied to Congress, so every single one of them can be charged with perjury.
