Supreme Court shocking poll results
With all that has been going on, I was absolutely delighted to see the results of a recent poll on Supreme Court approval.
In some rulings, conservative justices have crossed over, which has outraged people.
Then, of course, there is Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson going off the rails, but she may actually be helping our cause.
Off the Rails
Jackson has been writing some blistering dissents.
While liberals have loved it, she has caught the attention of the conservative justices on the bench.
Justice Amy Coney Barrett, who often crosses over, wrote one of the most scathing opinions I have ever seen in terms of calling out a fellow justice.
It would seem we have an activist on the bench, not a juror.
Taking a Stand
Jackson has been out in the spotlight a bit over the last month, and she has had the opportunity to explain some of her more colorful dissents.
When asked about her opinions, she explained, "I just feel that I have a wonderful opportunity to tell people in my opinions how I feel about the issues, and that's what I try to do.”
I have to be honest… I was surprised more conservatives were not flipping out over this, as it was a huge red flag for me.
Supreme Court justices are not there for their feelings, nor should they be open with them. Their opinions are supposed to be based on their interpretation of the law, not their feelings. To me, this was grounds for impeachment.
5-Year High
Fox News recently ran a poll, and shockingly, the Court had its highest rating in about five years, when it was last above water in June 2020.
The Court is still below the surface, but at 47%, it is a massive increase over the last poll, where the Court was well under 40% approval. And I get it... Justice Roberts had a period of time where it seemed like he was pushing back against Trump solely for the purpose of doing just that, but the rulings are now far more in line with his usual interpretation of the law.
This tells me that conservatives are finally coming back to the Court because we surely know it is not liberals giving a thumbs up, unless they are applauding Jackson’s fiery dissents.
Regardless, it gives me some hope that people are finally having some faith in the highest court in the land because if we lose that court, we lose everything.
