Teamsters Leadership Declines to Endorse Candidate

Imagine paying thousands of dollars of union fees only to be told your opinion does not matter.

That is what Teamsters' leadership just told its members.

The union took an internal poll to find out who its members wanted to support, then it declined to endorse any candidate.

You Don’t Matter

When the survey was taken, it was not even close.

An electronic poll of Teamsters members showed that 60% supported Donald Trump, and only 34% favored Harris.

A second phone poll was conducted with almost identical results, with Trump getting the nod, 58% to 31%.

Yet, Teamsters President Sean O’Brien decided that he wanted to meet with Kamala Harris before making his decision.

O’Brien further stated that membership would play a big role in who the union supported, stating, “Our members are the union, and their voices and opinions must be at the forefront of everything the Teamsters do.

“Our final decision around a possible Presidential endorsement will not be made lightly, but you can be sure it will be driven directly by our diverse membership.”

Then the announcement was made that the union would not be endorsing a candidate in this race, making it appear that as far as leadership is concerned, it is a Democrat or nothing.

So, just how important is the opinion of the people paying your salary if they support one candidate nearly 2:1 and you decide not to endorse anyone?

O’Brien is a typical union hack, who knows that no matter what, Democrats will bail out their crooked unions.

Look at what happened in 2022, when Biden announced that $90 billion in taxpayer money would be used to bail out pension funds.

These unions write endless checks to Democrat political campaigns, then they pay leadership salaries of more than $200,000 a year (a recent report showed that 160 members of the union leadership were making more than $200,000, with O’Brien pulling down a reported $419,222 in total compensation and Randy Korgan making even more than that).

Again, keep in mind that rather than cutting salaries and trimming the fat in officer salaries, the American people are fattening up their pensions.

That list of salaries is why O’Brien could really care less about the rank and file and does not want to upset Dems by endorsing Trump.
