Tesla Cybertruck Explosion Outside Trump Hotel in Las Vegas
On New Year’s Day, the country was stunned by two horrifying attacks.
The first was in New Orleans, where a man drove his truck into a crowd, killing more than a dozen people. The second was more contained but just as shocking, with a Texas Cybertruck exploding outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas.
A Message
I am not sure if Matthew Livelsberger thought Trump was going to be in Las Vegas, but the fact he blew up the truck outside the Trump hotel, using a Tesla, sounds like a message to me.
Video of the explosion rocked the internet on January 1, with the truck being parked at the front doors of the hotel, with several people on the sidewalk nearby…
When I first saw the video, I could not believe more people were not killed in the attack, and if you look closely, you can see that the glass on the front doors of the hotel did not even get taken out.
The only person who was reportedly killed in the blast was the driver of the truck, Livelsberger, but it was later revealed that he took his own life before the explosion.
Who Did It?
With this attack and the attack in New Orleans so close together, police were naturally looking at possible links between the two incidents.
There is a link, but it is not likely to suggest these two were working together. As it turns out, both men who carried out the attacks served at Fort Bragg, now Fort Liberty, in North Carolina.
Police were actually stunned at the amateurish attack considering the level of military experience that Livelsberger had, stating, “The level of sophistication is not what we would expect from an individual with this type of military experience.”
To his point, Livelsberger is a former Green Beret, having been deployed twice, serving in Afghanistan, Ukraine, Tajikistan, Georgia and Congo. He reportedly has five Bronze Stars, including one for his courage under fire, so this was a very established military professional.
Lucky
We were truly lucky this explosion did not cause more damage, but it turns out the damage was limited due to the construction of the cybertruck.
After the explosion, Musk had announced that his “senior” team was working on finding out what happened because, initially, people were saying that the battery had exploded. Later, police revealed the truck has been packed with fireworks and explosives.
Musk then gave his engineers a slap on the back regarding the construction of the truck, posting, “The evil knuckleheads picked the wrong vehicle for a terrorist attack. Cybertruck actually contained the explosion and directed the blast upwards. Not even the glass doors of the lobby were broken.”
I cannot imagine what would have happened had that not been the case, as there were people in the general area that were wounded, but not killed. Not to mention the damage that would have been done to the property and possible deaths inside the building. We were fortunate this was not far worse and that the only death associated with the attack was the individual setting off the bomb.
