'The View’ caught spreading misinformation, and it’s not the first time

With the rioting in Los Angeles and Compton now a national headline and a political hot potato, it was only a matter of time before the ladies of “The View” starting spewing Democrat talking points.

Once again, however, they have been caught telling lies to the American people and have failed another fact check on their statements.

Just wrong

Let’s go back to 2020 presidential election to show just how uniformed these people that are commenting on this administration.

During a segment in March 2020, the panel was discussing a win by Joe Biden during the primary race, and the subject of the appointment of the Surgeon General came up.

Goldberg suggested Jill Biden was an “amazing doctor,” believing she could be the next surgeon general if Biden won the election. She stated, “I’m hoping Dr. Jill becomes the surgeon general, his wife. Joe Biden’s wife. She would never do it but, yeah, she’s a hell of a doctor. She’s an amazing doctor.”

After an uncomfortable pause at the ignorance of the statement, Sunny Hostin corrected her, stating, “She’s a teacher but might be good for [Education Secretary] Betsy DeVos’s post.”

Behar gets it wrong

Joy Behar made a comment about Elon Musk in February that was also wrong as Democrats and liberals were raging against Musk being appointed to head DOGE.

Behar stated that Musk was “pro-apartheid” without a single shred of evidence to back up her claim, other than her bias, and she was forced to walk back the comments.

She stated, "I'm getting some flak because I said that Musk was pro-apartheid. I don’t really know for sure if he was. He grew up in that time when it was full-blown before the great Nelson Mandela fixed that. He was around at that time. Maybe he was, maybe he wasn’t. He might have been a young guy too, so don’t be suing me, okay, Elon?"

That would be like saying that everyone who was alive during slavery supported it. It is a ridiculous and irresponsible thing to say.

Not a crime

Sunny Hostin, who is an attorney by trade, just made a monumental error in talking about the LA riots and immigration, stating, “It is not a crime to be undocumented. People are not illegal. We need to put that information out there. It is a civil infraction."

Entering this country illegally is 100% a crime, per 8 U.S. Code § 1325 - Improper entry by alien, which calls for up to six months imprisonment for the first offense, and up to two years for any subsequent offenses.

Offenses of this federal law can result in civil complaints as well, but it is absolutely a federal crime to enter this country illegally, so Hostin is completely wrong.

The worst part about her statement is that her viewers will believe her because she is an attorney and start spewing a talking point that was first put forward by AOC some time ago. I don’t expect anyone to be perfect, but considering her profession, Hostin should have gotten this right. Sadly, I don’t expect her to issue a correction, not that it matters, as the damage is already done.
