‘The View’ Host Sunny Hostin Outrageous Claim Regarding January 6
Well, the ladies on “The View” have done it again, proving that the show has no place on air.
Host Sunny Hostin compared the January 6 riot at the Capitol to three of the biggest atrocities this world has ever seen.
Hostin’s Claim
I have never hidden my disgust or disappointment about what took place on January 6, 2021. I believe Trump should have never been there, and I think the people who defaced the Capitol or attacked police should be in jail.
I have also stated that I think hundreds were overcharged simply to make a point, and if Trump wants to pardon people who were sent to jail or convicted of a felony for aimlessly wandering around the Capitol that day, so be it.
It was not an insurrection, as control of our government was never truly at stake, nothing even close to that. There was far more damage done during the George Floyd rioting, but this involved our politicians, so the outrage was really ramped up. To that point, Hostin piled it on, stating, “You don’t move on because January 6th was an atrocity.
“It was one of the worst moments in American history. And when you think about the worst moments in American history like World War II, things that happened like the Holocaust, chattel slavery.”
Slavery and the Holocaust
Chattel slavery was a dark time for this country, existing from 1776 until 1865, which is how historians conveniently dismiss the fact that slavery did not start in this country and our Founding Fathers literally had knock-down fights to end it. I think we can all agree that slavery is far worse than what happened on January 6.
As far as the Holocaust is concerned, to compare January 6 to that horrific event is an insult to every Jewish person who died or survived the Holocaust, as well as to Jewish people in general.
This was an outright attempt to rid the world of Jews, with millions of Jews having been shot or burned in ovens.
Again, I think we can all agree this was far worse than January 6.
World War II
I am breaking out the Holocaust from World War II as a whole because of the sheer number of people who died, including what some would consider a brutal act of killing innocent people with the atomic bombings of two Japanese cities. Today, that bombing would be considered a war crime.
Overall, it is estimated that more than 75 million people died in the war, with civilian deaths totaling more than 50 million people.
The United States alone lost more than 400,000 people, so, again, I think we can all agree this event was far worse than what took place on January 6.
The media needs to dial this nonsense down. January 6 was not a good day for this country, but it was far from our worst. Let’s not disrespect the true atrocities that took place here and around the world for the sake of ratings, clicks, and likes.
