Tim Scott warns Democrats could impeach Trump, Cabinet and pack Supreme Court after midterm win
Sen. Tim Scott says a Democratic midterm victory could trigger Trump impeachments and Supreme Court expansion, making Republican turnout the decisive check.
The South Carolina Republican urged voters to defend the party’s congressional majority during an appearance with Lara Trump on Fox News Channel’s “My View.”
Scott framed the midterms as a choice between advancing President Trump’s agenda and giving Democrats power to pursue impeachment and reshape the Supreme Court.
Lara Trump asked Scott how much the president’s campaigning could help turn out Republican voters. She said turnout was “what this is going to come down to.”
Scott answered that Trump’s presence on the campaign trail motivates the Republican base to support both the president and his agenda.
Scott ties his warning to control of Congress
In Breitbart’s account, Scott described what he believes Democrats would do if voters hand them power.
“The contrast to that is every single day, Democrats will find a way to impeach President Trump, his Cabinet, and frankly even judges-they want to pack the Supreme Court.”
That was a political forecast, not a report of completed action. Scott did not identify particular impeachment measures, targeted judges, or a specific plan to add seats to the court.
Still, impeachment remains part of the broader political conflict around Trump, including an anti-Trump impeachment protest at the U.S. Capitol.
Scott said the answer was to keep Republicans in control. He directed viewers to DefendTheMajority.com, asked them to contribute, and urged support for GOP candidates in both chambers.
Legal disputes involving Trump-era figures, including John Bolton’s classified-document case, also keep political and legal conflict before voters.
Scott’s case rests on a basic feature of divided government: elections decide who controls congressional votes, committees, and the power to pursue impeachment. His warning asks Republicans to treat that power as the central midterm stake.
Free markets become Scott’s closing case
Scott widened his appeal beyond impeachment and the Supreme Court. He cast the election as a fight over free markets, fairness, and what he called the American dream.
He told viewers that supporting President Trump’s agenda required voting for Republicans in the House and Senate.
“If you believe in keeping America a free-market capitalist society, keeping fairness and the American dream alive and well, you’ve got to vote for President Trump and his agenda, which means supporting Republicans in the House as well as in the Senate.”
The political tension surrounding Trump also reaches everyday confrontations, as shown by the dispute involving a teen wearing Trump clothing.
Scott did not offer polling numbers, name individual races, or state the size of the majority he wants Republicans to defend. His message instead focused on consequences: congressional control determines which agenda moves and which investigations begin.
Republican voters cannot control what Democrats may attempt. They can control whether they show up and leave Democrats the power to try.
