Trump announces slew of trade deals

One of the biggest hits that Donald Trump has been taking is the impact of this trade war on the American economy.

Well, this weekend, Trump scored multiple victories, including announcing a trade deal with China.

Deal with UK done

Everyone seems to think that Trump pushing back on tariffs against our allies is a bad thing, but I have never agreed with that.

We have numerous allies who have been crushing us with tariffs, only most people do not even realize that we have been on the short side of these deals for decades.

On Thursday, Trump announced a new deal with the UK, stating, "With this deal, the U.K. joins the United States in affirming that reciprocity and fairness is an essential and vital principle of international trade.

"The deal includes billions of dollars of increased market access for American exports, especially in agriculture, dramatically increasing access for American beef, ethanol and virtually all of the products produced by our great farmers."

Increased trade with Pakistan and India

Last week, tensions between Pakistan and India were heightened, with Trump immediately stepping in to offer to broker a peace deal between the two nations.

After the ceasefire agreement was announced, Trump said he was looking to increase trade with both nations.

He stated, "While not even discussed, I am going to increase trade, substantially, with both of these great Nations.

"Additionally, I will work with you both to see if, after a 'thousand years,' a solution can be arrived at concerning Kashmir. God Bless the leadership of India and Pakistan on a job well done!!!"

Trump lands the big fish

You guys know that I have always believed China was the key to everything for Trump, and while it took some time, Trump finally appears to have inked a deal with the communist nation.

US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer prefaced the big meeting, stating, “The U.S. has a massive $1.2 trillion trade deficit, so the President declared a national emergency. We’re confident that the deal we struck with our Chinese partners will help us work toward resolving that national emergency.”

After the meeting was over, the Trump administration announced, “It’s important to understand how quickly we were able to come to [an] agreement, which reflects that perhaps the differences were not so large as maybe thought. There was a lot of groundwork that went into these two days.”

Even if the deal is in place, the work is not done for Trump. Once the tariffs are lifted, he will have to ensure price gouging is no longer taking place because we all know once stores raise prices, they will keep them there even if the market changes in their favor. Trump and the GOPs success will depend on these deals impacting the economy as soon as possible.
